Absolutely shocking and completely unexpected news, readers! After Y! Music's Dave DiMartino reviewed the new History of the Eagles LP in his blog last week, it seems the Eagles themselves read his comments!

And the comments weren't kind! Not by a long shot!

Now we hear that the band, dispirited by what they saw as a well-written and well-informed indictment of their entire career, have abruptly given up on their signature country-rock sound and taken up (holy cow!) death metal!

Needless to say, the world of music has been taken aback by this ... huh? ... what's that? Is somebody out there waving at us, trying to get our attention?

Yes! Somebody is! Why, it's our old friend and fellow Y! Music blogger, Rob O'Connor! Everybody likes Bob-O!

    Come on in, Bob-O!

What's that? Hmm. Um hmm. Really? You're kidding!

    Really?

Wow. OK, OK. Well, thanks for the heads up. Seriously, man. Yeah, yeah, we'll bring the hot dogs to your thing. Again. Hot dogs can be expensive, you know.

Important blog note! This week, Framed welcomes the amazing Eagles of Death Metal and their great video, "I Want You So Hard."

  • Alanis Morissette may be famous for her confessional, let-it-all-hang-out songwriting style. However, one thing she seemingly isn't letting hang out these days is her figure.

The singer donned an unusually conservative look on her beach vacation Sunday--sporting denim shorts over her swimsuit not only as a coverup on shore, but also in the ocean.

    Photo: Splash

Morissette, 38, was in Hawaii over the weekend with her husband of almost three years, Mario 'MC Souleye' Treadway, as well as their 2-year-old son Ever.

The couple were likely visiting the islands to celebrate Treadway's birthday, as Morissette tweeted a sweet birthday message on Friday along with a photo of the two kissing in front of a palm tree and lush ocean scenery.

The good news for Pink: the pop star is almost back at full strength after suffering an ear and respiratory infection caused by rotavirus, a condition most frequently affecting young children that causes fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.

The bad news: Some of her fans are irate about an open letter she wrote on her official website to defend herself for canceling a show in Birmingham, England two weeks ago.

"I am a human being, therefore I am able to catch illness," she said as part of a 553-word post that flip-flopped from an apologetic to near-belligerent tone. "It is beyond my control--and I can't apologize for that."

I never thought I’d say this, but, Thank You IRS.

While Lauryn Hill has downplayed the role her recent tax debt has in her grudged decision to release new music, her fans couldn’t be happier to welcome her return. The angst behind her new song, “Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix),” is its much-needed fuel.

In a letter posted on her MsLaurynHill Tumblr page over the weekend, the former Fugees front woman cited today’s unchecked unhealthy paradigms – in addition to last week’s tragic loss of her former label mate, Kris Kross member Chris Kelly – as the motivation for her fury.

  • Aerosmith (Photo: Don Arnold)Aerosmith has adjusted its tour schedule due to a bomb threat, and also in order to play a benefit for victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

The band has bowed out of a May 11 gig in Jakarta, Indonesia over a bomb scare. The promoter of the show told AP that the band canceled the show at the JIEXPO Kemayoran after news broke that Indonesia arrested two suspected terrorists with explosives.

According to reports, the militants were allegedly plotting to bomb the Myanmar Embassy in Jakarta over that country's policies toward Muslims, although it's uncertain if the concert cancellation was due to that plot or there was another threat.

  • 'Iron Man 3' races past $1 billion dollar mark on monster foreign take

By Todd Cunningham LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - "Iron Man 3" was soaring past $1 billion at the worldwide box office Thursday, in a display of world domination that would make one of Marvel's super villains proud. The box-office bounty - roughly $700 million from abroad and $300 million domestically - is a major triumph for Disney, which bet big on comic book superheroes when it bought Marvel Studios for $4 billion in 2009. And its decision to bring aboard a Chinese partner for "Iron Man 3" and focus the Disney marketing machine on the booming foreign market looks pretty good right now, too. ...
