Remember Casey Abrams, the lovable, melodica-tooting, standup-bass-slapping, shaggy jazzbo from "American Idol" Season 10? He's one of "Idol's" most unforgettable alums, of course, but he's kept a low profile as of late. So when he suddenly appeared on TMZ this Wednesday, lying in his own filth and alongside a giant stuffed gorilla on an L.A. sidewalk, it was cause for alarm. Or maybe just cause for amusement.

Nicki Minaj spells it out for the contestantsAfter last week's less-than-impressive Hollywood Week group episode with "American Idol's" Season 12 guys, this week it was the ladies' time to shine. And with far more female than male contestants this year--and with Ryan Seacrest's desperate insistence that this'll be the year that a girl finally wins (hey, didn't Ryan say that last year? and the year before?)--the stakes seemed much higher than they did last week. But was the overall talent level higher? Was this really "the best girls we'd ever seen," as Ryan so boldly declared? Well, no. Many of the girls certainly didn't have any better luck remembering their lyrics, even when writing the words on their hands; it's a good thing they weren't auditioning on an "Idol" season still starring judge Simon Cowell (lyric-flubbing was always Simon's biggest pet peeve), or on "Don't Forget The Lyrics," for that matter, because they would have never survived.Lady Gaga Officially Cancels Entire Tour Due To Injuries, Needs Surgery
By Tiffany Lee | Stop The Presses! – Wed, Feb 13, 2013 8:50 PM ESTPoor Little Monsters! Mother Monster Lady Gaga has officially canceled the rest of her "Born This Way Ball" tour due to an injury she left untreated and hid from her staff. The singer just yesterday showed her cards via Twitter, profusely apologizing to fans for postponing a few tour dates. But turns out after she was given a full medical evaluation, Gaga was given the big no-go by doctors.Gaga's reps released a statement Wednesday saying, "After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip. She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal."
A whopping twenty-one concerts from Chicago to Tulsa will be canceled, counting for more than half her entire tour run. No telling how many tens of thousands of fans this will affect, along with a huge monetary loss for Gaga and those who work

J. Cole’s ‘Tears For ODB’: Anthem For ‘Forgotten Souls’
By Billy Johnson, Jr. | Hip-Hop Media Training – Wed, Feb 13, 2013 7:44 PM EST
(Frazer Harrison/ Getty)J. Cole’s “Tears For ODB” from his new Truly Yours mixtape is more than just a tribute to the late Wu-Tang Clan member who died of a drug overdose in 2004. “Tears” is a nod to anyone struggling to make it.
The Roc Nation/Columbia artist raps about having a father on drugs and growing up with a single mother. But he acknowledges that his purpose as an MC transcends simply entertaining.
“I’m here for more than to just kick some witty metaphors,” he raps over the moody, piano and booming kick drum track. “Dog, these more the type of sh-t you spit to set off wars.”

Women have all but owned Billboard's pop music charts for the past few years, but men have a comfortable lead in the top 10 on this week’s Hot 100. Male solo artists, groups and collabos account for six of the top 10. Male/female collabos, with a male in the lead, account for two others. The two remaining spots are held by a mixed-gender group (The Lumineers) and (surprisingly) just one female artist (in the lead spot) (Taylor Swift). Is this a new trend? I wouldn’t bet on it. It won’t be long at all before Rihanna, Katy, Kelly, Gaga, Beyonce and Adele are back in their usual spots in the top 10. Enjoy it while it lasts, guys.

Gary Allan (Photo: Sara Kauss)For some, the number 13 is unlucky. But for Gary Allan, at least, 13—as in the year 2013—has been nothing short of charmed. It’s been nearly three years since Allan released his last album, and clearly music fans were ready for a new one from him. His latest work, Set You Free, debuted at the top of both the country albums chart and the all-genre Billboard 200 and has been receiving glowing praise from critics.Allan stopped by Ram Country on Yahoo! Music recently to give us a taste of his stellar new material, as well as sit down and chat about what he's been up to in preparation for this new endeavor.
The new record has a distinctly sunnier tone than his last set—2010’s critically acclaimed but cathartic Get Off On The Pain. Allan—who weathered one of most painful experiences imaginable, the suicide of his wife in 2004--explains that it was a bit of a challenge to create a more optimistic collection.

Faith Hill (Photo: Jon Kopaloff)Faith Hill may be all of 45 years old, but the blond beauty is making waves for something usually reserved for teenagers—namely, braces on her teeth! After proudly flashing her bracketed smile at the Grammys, searches online rocketed for “Faith Hill braces.”Turns out Hill’s had the braces for some time. They were in full evidence at November’s Country Music Association Awards, and she told reporters she’d had them for about four months at that point. The singer had worn braces as a kid, but, as she explained to radio station KNIX, “"I forgot to wear my retainer--kids, wear your retainer!”
Hill’s cheerfully matter-of-fact attitude about fixing her shifted teeth—and, probably as well, the resulting implication that you’re never too old for self-improvement--charmed many out there. The country superstar is happy she was able to make such a positive statement.
“I've seen your posts and the news coverage on my braces....woah!!” she tweeted on Tuesday, adding, “Wear your braces proudly. Thanks everyone for all of the kind words!”

Josh Groban has yet to score a top 40 hit on the Hot 100, but that hasn’t held him back in album sales. This week, he lands his third #1 album on The Billboard 200 with All That Echoes. He’s only the second solo artist in chart history to land three or more #1 albums before landing a top 40 single. He follows Garth Brooks, who had amassed seven #1 albums before he finally cracked the top 40 in 1999 with “Lost In You.” (The artist billing, you may remember, was Garth Brooks as Chris Gaines.)Two groups—both hard rock bands—have, like Groban, amassed three or more #1 albums without yet scoring a top 40 hit. Disturbed has amassed four #1 albums. Godsmack has had three.

By Todd Cunningham LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - "Iron Man 3" was soaring past $1 billion at the worldwide box office Thursday, in a display of world domination that would make one of Marvel's super villains proud. The box-office bounty - roughly $700 million from abroad and $300 million domestically - is a major triumph for Disney, which bet big on comic book superheroes when it bought Marvel Studios for $4 billion in 2009. And its decision to bring aboard a Chinese partner for "Iron Man 3" and focus the Disney marketing machine on the booming foreign market looks pretty good right now, too. ...
