Stephen Colbert lost last night at the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards, marking the sixth straight year that he was defeated by his Comedy Central neighbor The Daily Show. There was some consolation this morning, however, as the host announced that Radiohead, who will be in New York City for the Saturday Night Live premiere, will appear on the September 26th episode of The Colbert Report, the show's first-ever hour-long episode. Why the doubled runtime? Radiohead will perform four King of Limbs songs, plus their unreleased "The Daily Mail." One more track will be played exclusively for the Colbert site. Hopefully, it's not "The Twist."
"I look forward to meeting the Radioheads and leveraging their anti-corporate indie cred to raise brand awareness for my sponsors," the host joked in a statement.
