Thanks to a one-two punch via Spin and MTV News, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have successfully made us literally say "hmm, interesting" five times today while reading up on their upcoming album I'm With You. Are you ready to be sort of surprised?

• Flea says the band nearly broke up after 2006's bloated double disc Stadium Arcadium, thus the long pause between records.
"I initiated [the break]. ... It had come to a point where it felt dysfunctional and not fun. ... I wanted to get away to give the band a chance to survive."

• I'm With You, their first studio album in over five years, is about weighty topics.
"[It's] about life and death and betrayal and [Anthony Kiedis'] relationship to the world," Flea explains. "It's much more poignant than our other records." Perhaps here's referring to "Californication"?

In the second installment of Stephen Colbert's three-part interview with Jack White (check out Part One if you haven't already), the late-night host and the Third Man record exec cut right to the matter at hand: Turning Colbert back into a Grammy-winning musician. Colbert won a Grammy in 2010 -- in the Best Comedy Album category, but still -- and after getting shut out of nominations this year, Colbert makes White promise to return him to Grammy glory in 2012. White's idea: Team Colbert with the Third Man act Black Belles. They possess the "musical talent and looks," while Colbert contributes "other qualities," like a strange drug habit involving heroin and the all-encompassing vitamin Centrum.

The highlight of Part Two comes when Colbert asks White, over and over again, who his influences are. "Bob Dylan's pretty good," White says. Pretty good? Understatement. The third chapter in the interview will air tonight on The Colbert Report.

Six months ago, Justin Bieber and David Letterman were getting along so famously, Bieber tweeted at Dave while he was appearing on the Late Show. "I just said, like, 'I'm just hanging out with my boy Dave,' " Bieber told Letterman, who cackled with glee and shouted, "Pretty good!" and called the teen pop star "a pretty smart kid." Bieber returned in February to promote his 3-D movie Never Say Never by reading the Top 10 Reasons It's Fun To Be Justin Bieber ("At the barber shop, I can say, 'Give me the Me' ") and got the chance to sit in with the CBS Orchestra on drums.

But things were far less convivial last night when Bieber returned to Letterman to read the Top 10 Little-Known Facts About Justin Bieber. Maybe Letterman didn't feel comfortable helping Bieber sell perfume in a bottle shaped like lady-parts to tweens -- that was the purpose of Bieber's visit, he's out and about in New York today trying to convince girls to buy his new fragrance, Someday. Numerous comedy stars got their start at the New York outpost of the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre, an anything-goes improv spot that always draws Saturday Night Live castmembers and rock stars to its assortment of oddball shows. In January, Diddy actually appeared in "The Chris Gethard Show" at UCB after a long campaign by comic Chris Gethard -- the rapper/actor/mogul even brought its host a box of gifts that included Tic Tacs, three strippers, and a wad of cash. Diddy hilariously, fantastically got the joke. The Insane Clown Posse, however, do not have as much love for UCB. In fact, they have no love for UCB. None!
