In a situation that could make for one awkward Thanksgiving dinner, Beyoncé has decided to part ways with her manager Mathew Knowles, who also happens to be the singer's father. Despite the split, however, Mathew will remain Beyoncé's father. "He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me," she said in a statement. "I grew up watching both he and my mother manage and own their own businesses. They were hardworking entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps." Mathew Knowles added the excellent advice, "Business is business and family is family."
Beyoncé didn't give a specific reason as to why she split from her dadager, who's been working with her since the Destiny's Child era, which leaves us free to wildly speculate. If this happened in 2009, we would've assumed it had something to do with Mathew and Tina Knowles' divorce after paternity tests proved Mathew had fathered a child outside his marriage, but the breakup was called off in November 2010. With a new Beyoncé album reportedly looming, we instead think she will likely sign a management deal with Roc Nation, the music company run by her husband, Jay-Z, that boasts clients like Rihanna and Wale. Beyoncé has so far declined to announce her managerial plans, but don't surprised if she's standing under Jigga's media umbrella soon.
