For 50 Cent, revenge is a dish best served leaked. Fitty has been complaining for months on Twitter about his label Interscope's reluctance to release his new album, tentatively titled Before I Self Destruct II. Why 50 wants to put out a sequel to his mediocre 2009 LP is beyond logic, but yesterday the rapper got official word from the label that they won't release it. So to exact vengeance, 50 is threatening to leak not his latest disc but "Psycho," his contribution to Dr. Dre's never-gonna-be-released Detox. If 50 is gonna go to war against Interscope, then Dre is the collateral damage.
"Man I'm not releasing a album i can't believe interscope is this f*cked up right now. I apologize to all my fans. I will work with other artist on there projects but I will not put out another album. They dropped the ball with me one time to many," 50 Cent wrote in a series of tweets. "I LOVE DRE but I'm putting his next single psycho out tomorrow at 2:00. Your gonna love it its a big song I just don't think it deserves a great set up sense they can't seem to get it right when it comes to me."
We'll find out at 2 p.m. (East Coast time?) if 50 is a man of his word or just issuing empty threats to scare Interscope into releasing his album. Oddly, this is the second time 50 Cent has involved Dr. Dre while battling Interscope: Last month, 50 said he'd withhold BISD2 until Dre drops Detox and everyone simply chuckled.
