Katy Perry Goes All ‘Up’ for ‘The One That Got Away’ Video

Fifteen months and five Hot 100-topping singles after Katy Perry released her Teenage Dream, the album keeps yielding new music videos. This time it's for "The One That Got Away," which features Perry in some hardcore Benjamin Button makeup. The video is like the ultra-sad opening scene from Up combined with the ultra-confusing final scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey with a whole bunch of flashbacks tossed in.

It's a simple story: Old Perry is happily married at the beginning of the video, but she keeps reminiscing about a boyfriend who died in a fatal car crash when they were much younger and Perry was looking like Joan Jett. (It was driving The Amp crazy trying to remember who plays Perry's paramour in the video, but then we remembered he's Diego Luna from Y tu mama tambien. Dude grew up.) In the end, Perry enjoys a brief supernatural reunion with Luna while Johnny Cash's "You Are My Sunshine" plays over a non-existent radio.

Can't get enough geriatric Katy? A seven-minute version of this video will screen before the film My Week With Marilyn starting November 23rd. Soak it in, because this is probably Perry's last Teenage Dream music video. Maybe.
