And who knew being John Lennon could be so mundane? Picking up marmalade, putting Sean Lennon's mattress back in its room (what was it doing out of Sean's room?), and arranging the photo book are among the activities John planned for himself on May 22nd (year unknown).
The numbered to-do list also finds Lennon struggling to get his HBO hooked up ("BE THERE," he notes, since the cable guy is scheduled to arrive between 3 and 5 p.m.), and wondering in writing, "Would it be a good idea to make sure BOTH CARS have full GAS TANKS?" And don't forget to ask Steve D. about the herbs for the cat! We also learn that Lennon was reading a book by the Norwegian adventurer Thor Heyerdahl, but he lent it to Sam Green and now wants it back. Green, it should be noted, borrowed much more than just a book from Lennon: The art dealer was rumored to have an affair with Yoko Ono.
