"Neil Young" returned to Late Night With Jimmy Fallon yesterday, and this time he brought a couple of his old crooner buddies, David Crosby and Graham Nash. No quotation marks around their names; it was actually Crosby and Nash (Fallon is "Young," of course). The Internet went nuts for past performances, like when "Young" sang The Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme or "Whip My Hair" with an incognito Bruce Springsteen, but this time nobody cared all that much. Maybe because Zach Galifianakis dropped a hilarious Between Two Ferns with Will Ferrell today, filling the day's viral video quota. Or maybe it's because all "Party in the U.S.A." jokes are pretty played out at this point. Crosby, Fallon, and Nash doing Rebecca Black's "Friday," that's funny. But Miley, not so much.
We've said it before, but the only way Fallon can top the Springsteen performance is if Neil Young himself comes out and sings "Judas" or something with "Neil Young." Anything else is beating a still-pretty-amusing dead horse.
