"Fell in Love With a Girl" was on the White Stripes' White Blood Cells, which came out in 2001. That is 10 years ago. Ten years! Ago! The track wasn't released as a single until the following year, when the idea of something called Jack White became known to most of the general population. The Stripes, of course, are no more, and recently we've really started to miss them. Reminders of their awesomeness seem to pop up every day, like in April when a cool Congresswoman quoted "Effect and Cause" on the Senate floor. Today we spotted Of Montreal's cover of "Fell in Love With a Girl," which the band performed as part of the A.V. Club's Undercover series. Kevin Barnes and Co. step into the Onion's circular studio and bash out the tune with no frills (and none of their famous nudity), but with an additional guitar and a bass line. It sounds fantastic and didn't even cost us any money.
