It's difficult to predict who will fill all those slots this year, but now we know who'll be taking the SNL stage in early October following Radiohead's premiere appearance: Lady Antebellum, Foster the People, and Drake. Later this year, crooner Michael Bublé will return for the second time in three years.
Lady Antebellum's slot highlights the fact that no big-name country stars performed on SNL last season despite the fact that many huge country records had a major impact on the Billboard charts. Foster the People are pretty akin to Florence + the Machine -- a smaller band that's caught on with the masses. And the two next-gen heroes of Weezy's Young Money empire, Drake and Nicki Minaj, line up pretty perfectly. That means there's room for a lot more rock bands on the slate (No Doubt in early 2012, maybe?) -- and Kelly Clarkson, who'd fit in perfectly the last week of October!
