Other than reading Lady Gaga's exciting tweet last night, the highlight of Barack Obama's weekend was the White House Correspondents Dinner, the annual Washington, DC confab where the president takes a ribbing from a well-known comedian, then gets to gently mock the journalists who cover his administration and more harshly mock the millionaire in the room with the worst hair.
Obama started the latter riff strong, insisting that he'd released his long-form birth certificate so Donald Trump could return his focus to issues that matter, like "Where are Biggie and Tupac?" But he really hit paydirt during the trailer for a mock film called The President's Speech in which Obama struggles with the prospect of life without his beloved Teleprompter. When the solution to his dilemma appears -- MVP bumbler Joe Biden -- a familiar song begins to play: Ol' Dirty Bastard's 1995 hit "Shimmy Shimmy Ya." The clip wrapped with Peter Gabriel's "Solsbury Hill," but we still had ODB yowling, "Yeah baby, I like it raawwwwww" stuck in our heads hours later. New York is in the house... White House is in the house: First president down with Shaolin!
