Woman Swims Gulf of Mexico While Singing the Works of Bob Dylan

If you hear a female voice singing the works of Bob Dylan in the Gulf of Mexico over the next 48 hours, don't worry, this is completely normal. Sixty-one-year-old Diana Nyad is currently 20 hours into a journey that'll see her (hopefully) swimming from a port in Havana to Key West. It's a daunting, 103-mile task, so to help keep her mind off of the challenge ahead, Nyad revealed that she'll be front-crawling while singing tracks by Bob Dylan and Janis Joplin. Dylan is like mental Gatorade.

According to ESPN, Nyad has memorized more than 30 Dylan songs, good for three hours of self-entertainment. When that's done, Nyad then launches into 4,000 cycles of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider," which would personally drive us insane but hey, whatever keeps her motoring. You can track Nyad's Dylan-fueled progress at CNN.
