  • Lauryn Hill Might Need a New Place to Live

    (Gilbert Carrasquillo, Getty Images)

Poor Ms. Lauryn Hill can't seem to catch a break. Earlier this week we discovered that the one-time Fugees singer had sent a letter to asking the court for probation when she's sentenced on tax evasion on April 22, so she continue to work and can eventually pay back Uncle Sam. Now comes word from TMZ that Hill is being sued for eviction.

Since 2009, she's been renting a mansion in South Orange, New Jersey, but she reportedly stopped paying her rent in March, prompting her landlord to file for eviction. Either Lauryn comes up with the money for rent, or she'll be out of the street. She last performed on Feb. 2, 2013, when she headlined the Ragga Muffin festival in Rotorua, New Zealand.

  • (Kevin Mazur, Getty Images)Britain's Stone Roses may be best known for their 1989 modern rock hit "I Wanna Be Adored," but apparently during the first weekend of this year's Coachella Music Festival, they weren't adored quite enough.

The turnout for the band's headlining set last Friday night (April 12) was noticeably thinner than the crowds that turned out for the weekend's other headliners. In fact, fellow reunited '90s Brit-rockers Blur pulled a larger and more enthusiastic crowd. With that the case, the bands have swapped spots for this Friday's fest (April 19), leading some to assume that the Stone Roses had been demoted from the headlining spot.

However, Paul Tollet, president of Coachella promoter Goldenvoice, told Rolling Stone that's not the case. It was also planned to have the two acts switch spots over the two weekends all along.

"When the [lineup] poster came out, when we announced the show, each weekend's poster was different," Tollet said. "The first

  • BRMC’s Robert Levon Been Accepts the Call

Rock 'n' roll rebels don't always have to rage against their parents. Sometimes they can embrace them. Take the story of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club singer/bassist Robert Levon Been for example.

On Thursday at Slim's in San Francisco and Friday at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, Been will stand in for his late father, Michael Been, fronting The Call, the Santa Cruz, Calif. band known for the '80s hits "The Walls Came Down" and "Let the Day Begin."

On August 19, 2010, the elder Been died tragically of a heart attack at the age of 60 at the Pukkelpop festival in Hasselt, Belgium, while working as a soundman for BRMC. And now his son will pay his father the ultimate tribute by joining The Call's surviving members to play a few shows and record a live album/DVD.

  • Jack White Wants You on Vinyl

(Steve Granitz, WireImage)Possibly more than any other rock star on the planet, Jack White is pushing for the resurgence of vinyl. Just last year, White's solo debut, Blunderbuss, became the best-selling vinyl LP of 2012 by knocking The Beatles' Abbey Road from the top spot with sales of 34,000 copies. Now Jack, who is serving as ambassador of this year's Record Store Day, wants fans to become part of the vinyl revolution by inviting them to his Third Man Record Record Store in Nashville to record themselves on vinyl in his new Third Man Record Booth. It will debut on Saturday, as part of the Record Store Day celebration.

"Certain beautiful experiences can only happen in the environment of a record store and I just thought that nothing could drive that point home more than a one-of-a-kind machine that lets you not only record your own vinyl record, but send it to anyone, anywhere in the world to share a song, poem, or private message with," Jack says in a message posted on the Third Man website.

  • Coldplay Takes ‘Mylo Xyloto’ to the Comics

If you're jonesin' for some new Coldplay, you're in luck. The band has a new release available from Apple, but you won't find it in the iTunes store. Rather, you'll have to turn to the iBookstore, because it's not an album, but a comic book series that bears the same name of the band's six-million-selling 2011 album, Mylo Xyloto.

And if you're a huge fan of Coldplay, or even a casual observer, you even luckier, because the first issue is the iBookstore's Book of the Week, so it's available for free at itunes.com/ColdplayComics. The other books in the series will be released monthly, through July.

If you're more into physical releases than digital, Coldplay has an option for you. The band will celebrate Record Store Day in the U.K. on April 20 with Issue One of the comic book paired with a special seven-inch picture disc of "Hurts Like Heaven" and "Us Against The World (Live)." If you're not in the U.K., you'll still have an opportunity to buy the special limited-edition package a week later through Coldplay.com and selected independent record stores.

  • Elton John Goes off the Deep End on New Album

(Frederick M. Brown, Getty Images)Sir Elton John recently previewed his new album, The Diving Board, for an elite crowd of record executives, industry insiders and journalists. The album is due in September. As a result of the merger of Universal and EMI, Elton now records for Capitol, the label home of The Beatles and The Beach Boys.

Yet Elton has turned to yet another legend, Bob Dylan, for inspiration. "I wanted at 66 years of age to make records that I think befits a person of my age," Elton said during a Q&A session following the album playback, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Like Modern Times by Bob Dylan. When I heard that record I went, 'My God, this record could have been made any time in the last 50 years!' It's brilliant and I want to try to make records as good as that. And [Dylan] is the person that we look up to. He's the person that we aspire to be as artists because he's always changing, he's always mercurial, he's always like a chameleon. And his quality control is pretty damn good."

  • Lauryn Hill’s Still Having Problems With That Tax Thing

    (Jason Miller, Getty Images)

Monday is tax day, a fact that is more troubling for some of us than others. Count Ms. Lauryn Hill in the former group. She faces a massive tax bill after she failed to file tax returns from 2005 through 2007, when she reportedly raked in more than $1.8 million. She pleaded guilty to charges of tax evasion back in June 2012 and could end up in prison for several years.

The new twist is that Lauryn recently filed legal documents asking the court for mercy before her April 22 sentencing, according to TMZ. She's claiming she stopped paying Uncle Sam after "she withdrew from society at large due to what she perceived as manipulation and very real threats to herself and her family."

  • DMX Says Iyanla Didn’t Fix His Life, She Made It Worse

(OWN)DMX has had a rough road. Despite his success as a rapper and actor in the late '90s and early 2000s, he grew up in a rough neighborhood, suffered through an abusive childhood and went on to have a lot of trouble with the law, racking up arrests for drug possession, reckless driving, animal cruelty and more.

His personal life has also been a bit of a mess. He was married to Tashera Simmons for 11 years, but he had several extramarital affairs, which led to the birth of some of his 10 children.

With that kind of background, you might think he'd be the perfect candidate for Fix My Life, inspirational speaker Iyanla Vanzant's show on Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network.

The rapper is featured on an episode of the show that aired Saturday, but now he's saying Iyanla didn't fix his life, she made it worse.

"DMX agreed to be a guest on Iyanla: Fix My Life with the understanding that she would be helping his relationship with his 10 children," X's rep Domenick Nati said in statement distributed to

  • Ginger Spice Stands Down on Margaret Thatcher Tweet

(Ferdaus Shamim, WireImage)At the height of Spice Girl-mania, Geri Halliwell -- then more commonly known as Ginger Spice -- sported a Union Jack mini-dress. Not only did it look smashing, but it proudly showed her love of country. Given that history, it was no surprise when Geri took to Twitter on Monday, following the death of Margaret Thatcher, to pay tribute to the one-time Prime Minister.

She wrote, "Thinking of our 1st Lady of girl power, Margaret Thatcher, a green grocer's daughter who taught me anything is possible…x"

It was, however, a bit of a surprise when Geri deleted that tweet after she was barraged by angry responses from her more than 200,000 followers. She then apologized, tweeting, "I'm sorry if I offended u. X"
