      Music has always played an important role in Film and Television, creating memorable moments both on the silver screen and at home. Here are a few picks from our favorite Film and TV Soundtracks!


      2010 Jersey Shore

      The reality phenomenon Jersey Shore is a series that follows eight housemates spending their summers together, in the first season at the Jersey Shore and the second in Miami Beach. See the Enrique Iglesias video for "I Like It" featuring the cast of Jersey Shore.

      Friday Night Lights

      The series based on the 2004 film and 1990 book of the same name, Friday Night Lights, began in 2007. The second volume of the soundtrack released this year features White Rabbits' "Percussion Gun."

      Get Him To The Greek

      The 2010 comedy Get Him To The Greek stars Jonah Hill and Russell Brand, who also stars in the video from the soundtrack, Infant Sorrow's "Just Say Yes."

      Iron Man 2

      The Iron Man 2 soundtrack is a compilation of all AC/DC songs that are featured throughout the film.

    • The Doobie Brothers

      To celebrate the release of their new studio album World Gone Crazy, the Doobie Brothers broadcasted a live, fan interactive, video conference concert. See photos and video from the September 27 performance below!

      Returning for the album are founding members, vocalists and principle songwriters Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons, longtime members John McFee on guitar, Mike Hossack on drums and producer Ted Templeman (the producer behind the band's biggest hits through 1980 and other classics by Van Halen, Eric Clapton, Carly Simon and others).  Tracks on the album include an all-new recording of the Doobies' first track on their debut album, "Nobody," "I Know We Won" featuring Willie Nelson and "Don't Say Goodbye" featuring former Doobie Brothers member Michael McDonald.

    • Soundgarden

      2010 Telephantasm

      Chris Cornell and Soundgarden have reunited after 14 years and have released a career spanning compilation, Telephantasm. The album includes the previously unreleased track "Black Rain" remixed from 1991's Badmotorfinger sessions with new vocals from Cornell. The album is bundled with 1 million copies of the new Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock video game and released as two different deluxe combinations on September 28. Check out their new video for "Black Rain" (directed by Metalocalypse creator Brendan Small) and the rest of their career-spanning videos.


      2001 Audioslave

      Zack de la Rocha left Rage Against The Machine in 2000 and Chris Cornell joined the group in 2001 under the new name Audioslave by 2002. The band released three very successful albums before dissolving due to irreconcilable differences in 2007 as Rage Against The Machine reunited for that year's Coachella music festival.

      2010 Winner: Lady Gaga "Bad Romance"

      The MTV Video Music Awards were on September 12 and we're celebrating the show's 16th year by taking a look at each year's winner for Video of the Year. See this year's winning video, "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga (which won 6 additional awards: Best Pop Video, Best Female Video, Best Dance Video, Best Choreography, Best Direction and Best Editing), as well as the rest of the year's nominees--most of which also took home a Moonman in other categories.

      2010 Red Velvet Car

      Classic hard rockers Heart are back with an all new album releasing August 31. Red Velvet Car contains mostly acoustic songs, but also includes a couple of hard rock tracks like "WTF."


      2007 Dreamboat Annie Live

      Ann and Nancy Wilson recorded a live performance of tracks from their first album, Dreamboat Annie, in Los Angeles in 2007 and released a live CD and DVD later that year. The live performance also includes covers of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and The Who.


      2004 Jupiter's Darling

      Heart's most recent album of all new material was 2004's Jupiter's Darling. The album enlists the help of Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell on "Fallen Ones," and Pearl Jam's Mike McCready on "I'm Fine," "Down the Nile" and "Led to One."


      2003 Alive In Seattle

      Recorded on the last stop of Heart's tour in 2002, Alive in Seattle includes performances of the band's biggest hits and covers of Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog" and "The Battle of Evermore."

      2010 Brian Wilson Reimagines Gershwin

      The legendary American rock era composer and former Beach Boy, Brian Wilson releases his newest album on August 17, paying tribute to the legendary American Jazz era composer, George Gershwin. Brian Wilson Reimagines Gershwin includes covers of the songwriter's classics "Summertime," "I Got Rhythm" and "Rhapsody In Blue,"--one of Wilson's earliest musical memories as a child. At the request of the Gershwin estate, Wilson also completed two unfinished Gershwin piano compositions for the album.


      2008 That Lucky Old Sun

      Wilson was commissioned by London's Southbank Centre to help kick off the venue's 2007 season and prepared That Lucky Old Sun, a concept album based on the American vocal standard and included the participation of his SMiLE band, as well as long-time collaborator Van Dyke Parks.       2010 Euphoria

      Spanish pop singer Enrique Iglesias is back with his ninth studio album, Euphoria, released on July 6. This album marks the first time the singer has released a truly bilingual album (previous albums only included Spanish versions of English songs). The album features Akon, Nicole Scherzinger of Pussycat Dolls, Juan Luis Guerra on "Cuando Me Enamoro" and Pitbull on "I Like It."
