  • Boyz II Men, Framed

Well, it's almost Christmas, readers, and our thoughts have gone to the real meaning of the season.

    Here's what we think:

Christmas is a time of giving. This year, our gift to you is a dozen splendid captions, as well as the beautiful fruit basket we just sent to your house. Sorry about the "shipping charges" you'll see on your credit card, though!

Christmas is also a time for reflection. How can we be better people in the year to come? Since Framed couldn't actually be any better, this is sort of moot for us, but you folks would do well to reflect on it.

Exciting news, readers! Now that we're into December, the spirit of the season has gripped us like nobody's business! So — from now until the big day — we'll be featuring nothing but Xmas videos!

This week, we're happy to welcome talented saxophonist Kenny G and his wistful version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." The song, now a beloved classic, made its debut when Judy Garland sang it in the 1944 flick, Meet Me in St. Louis. Since then it's been covered by everyone from Frank Sinatra to Twisted Sister.

  • Selena Gomez & The Scene, Framed

Hi, everyone, and welcome to Framed. This week our video is "Hit The Lights," the brand new offering from Selena Gomez & The Scene. You're sure to like it!

Selena is the star of the Disney Channel's excellent Wizards of Waverly Place, and is also a music star in her own right. Most importantly, though, she's Justin Bieber's girlfriend. And the young couple's made quite a splash in the press lately, with a recent appearance at the American Music Awards at which — we're told — they couldn't keep their hands off each other.

Welcome to Framed, the blog where the good times roll, week-in and week-out! And great news, readers: we've got Britney Spears' new video, "Criminal," this week, so tell everyone that Y! Music is the place to be!

Britney's no stranger to our blog; we've featured her videos three or four times previously, but — this time — the video actually has a plot! In a way!

Hi, readers! We're not only back, we're better than ever! And we offer you our profound thanks for returning after our long hiatus.

We'll recap our many adventures in an upcoming installment, but let's get right back to Framed! This week, our featured artist is Spanish-American pop star Enrique Iglesias, who's not only sold over 60 million albums, he's also dated tennis babe Anna Kournikova, with (in his words) no intention of marrying her.

Is he the best, or what?

  • Punish Fort, Framed

Welcome back to Framed, readers. This week, we're presenting the Best Video We've Ever Seen.

It's the work of Punish Fort, a Seattle-based hard rock band, and is from their 2008 album, the niftily-titled Cripe, All Mighty. The song, about a creepy pumpkin-headed being, is called "Pumpkinhead," and--although it's absolutely the most obscure video to ever grace our blog--it shows that great art is not the province of the corporations. Good work, Punish Fort!

  • The Dixie Chicks, Framed

Hello readers, and welcome back to Framed, one of the many excellent music video blogs on the internet. Thanks for reading!

This week's guest artists are the Dixie Chicks, a solid, best-selling combo that has long since crossed over from country to mainstream pop. The gals--Martie Erwin Maguire, Emily Erwin Robison, and lead singer Natalie Maines--came out of Dallas in the late 1980s and, after much toil, hit it huge in the late '90s with their Wide Open Spaces and Fly LPs, both of which hit #1 on the country charts and landed in the Top 5 on the LP charts.

Hola, readers! Welcome to Framed! Bienvenidos!

Everyone knows that we're livin' la vida loca here at Y! Music, but how many knew that we're also big fans of narcocorrido--musical stories about narcotics trafficking?

Probably not a lot of you! But this peculiarly Mexican-American song form is the folk music of today, and we're on board! So much so that we're using exclamation points with a DiMartinoesque casualness!

    !

Parents may be concerned that narcocorrido glorifies the drug overlords, but that's not strictly true. Singer Gabriel Berrelleza of this week's guest artists, Los Cuates de Sinaloa, explains: "A corrido is a musical story taken from real life. It can be about a tragic accident or praising a person... a lot of people think narcocorridos are only ones who can challenge the government. To them, it's like an action picture. The one who wins in the end is the good guy. And for those people, the government is the bad guy."

Welcome to Yahoo, or, as we're known to the New York Times, the struggling search portal.

Business-savvy readers know that Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz was let go last week, and may fear that others will also fall. Their chief concern, no doubt, is the fate of the many excellent bloggers here at Y! Music, who've done so much to make this world a better and safer place.

Good news! A quick call to corporate Chairman Roy Bostock, who we know well from our days of writing an absolutely hilarious blog for Morgan Stanley, revealed that none of your favorite bloggers are at risk, except one. And Framed, of course, is untouchable.

    So no worries, readers!

This week, we welcome Oregonian folk-rockers the Decemberists to our blog. After a decade of recording and touring, they hit it really big when this year's The King Is Dead entered the Billboard album chart at #1. Our video--"Calamity Song"--is from the album, and shows kids playing some sort of thermonuclear war tennis match.
