    • Bono Tells ‘Ellen’ He Hates His Girly Singing Voice

Ever since they captured international attention three decades ago, a curmudgeonly minority has complained about U2's music, frequently citing Bono's allegedly whiny voice. Today we learned that shockingly, the U2 frontman actually sympathizes with his detractors.

Appearing on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" via satellite to raise awareness of World AIDS Day, Bono admitted that he has a hard time listening to his own music.

"If I hear our songs on the radio, I tend to turn them down, not because I don't like them or believe in them, but actually my voice annoys me. I always think I could have sang it better."

    • Hanson’s Beer Joins List of Strangest Musician-Endorsed Alcoholic Products

Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesHaving recently announced they'll be unleashing their own brand of beer, Hanson have unwittingly made their first culturally relevant move in 13 years: They're now part of the ever-expanding musicians-shilling-alcohol universe.

It only makes sense for rockers and rappers (and still-soldiering '90s boy bands) to attach their name to a brand of booze. Sure, singers endorsing sodas might fizzle because they're clearly shilling (Exhibit A, Exhibit B), but an artist connecting their cachet with beer or liquor is a win-win. Diddy isn't just cashing a paycheck when he name-checks Ciroc—he's trying to help you get your party on! (And if you refuse to party with his brand of vodka, he will ice you).

    • Sole Survivor: 15-Year-Old Mick Jagger Shows Off His Shoes on Children’s Show

A round of applause for the Internet! Someone uncovered a clip of a 15-year-old Mick Jagger modeling "a pair of ordinary gym shoes" on a British children's series in 1959. This clip may prove to be the most entertaining 23 seconds of your day.

Referred to as "Michael" (his birth name) and man-handled by the host of a TV show called 'Seeing Sport', Jagger looks incredibly young for 15 but his eyes already burn with that rock n' roll rakishness. With his eyes flicking back and forth between the host and his raised foot, Jagger rather looks like he's merely humoring the chap.

    • Elvis Costello Urges Fans to Avoid His New $200 Box Set

John Shearer/WireImageHis aim remains true, even if his own pocketbook becomes a target: Elvis Costello is throwing barbs at the record label releasing his upcoming live box set because of the inordinately hefty price tag it carries.

A post on Costello's website appropriately entitled "Steal This Album" (perhaps he's also a System of a Down fan) advises fans to steer clear of a 3-disc, 1 DVD, 1 vinyl record collection of a live concert in L.A. from April 2011.

    • Kanye West Uses Nietzsche Defense in Music Theft Lawsuit

Kevin Kane/Getty ImagesThat which doesn't kill a lawsuit can only make it stronger, right? That's what Vincent Peters is hoping in his copyright infringement case against Kanye West, a previously dismissed claim which Peters is now appealing to a higher court.

Alleging suspicious similarities between Kanye West's number one hit "Stronger" from 2007 and a 2006 song he submitted to West's business manager, Peters points out that the tunes share titles, Kate Moss references and choruses that revolve around Nietzsche's maxim, "What does not destroy me makes me stronger."

Copyright suits against wealthy hit makers are nothing new, but rarely does the musician in question have the pleasure of citing the infamous 19th century philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche as part of their defense.

    • Jennifer Lopez Fakes Bronx Drive for Car Ad

Don't be fooled by the body doubles that she got—in those car commercials where Jennifer Lopez cruises around the Bronx, Jenny was nowhere near the blocks of her youth.

"This is my world, this place inspires me," says J.Lo in the compact car ad that depicts her soaking in the urban bustle of the Bronx, from breakdancers on graffiti-covered streets to kids cooling off at popped fire hydrants.

    • Previously Unheard, Unknown Elliott Smith Song Discovered from ’97

As fans of the Doors, Biggie, John Lennon and now Amy Winehouse know, death doesn't stop a beloved musical icon from releasing new music. But with seemingly all of Elliott Smith's odds-and-ends compiled on his second posthumous collection 'New Moon' (that title didn't have the same association back in 2007), it seemed as if the double-disc comp had covered everything. So it was a shock for a curious collector when just weeks ago he discovered an entirely forgotten, largely unheard Smith song from 1997.

The song, "Misery Let Me Down," was caught on tape just before the 27-year-old Smith played a set for a college station at the University of Maryland, College Park. Back then, 'Either/Or' had just come out but he was a year shy of massive exposure thanks to his uncomfortable performance at the Academy Awards for an original song in 'Good Will Hunting'.

    • Justin and Selena Radiate Old Hollywood Glamour on the AMAs Red Carpet

Jon Kopaloff/Getty ImagesMaking their first high-profile appearance together since successfully weathering that more-than-likely false paternity claim, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were smiling and smooching as they hit the red carpet at the American Music Awards.

The glamour of Old Hollywood radiated from the teen power couple, with Bieber in a sharp tuxedo (and black bow tie!) and Gomez wearing a classic golden gown. In a move sure to rankle fans who still miss the Bieber swoop, Justin sported a slicked-down hair style with his usually buoyant locks patted down tightly and looking much darker than usual.

    • Snoopy Stars in Greatly Improved ‘Party Rock Anthem’ Video

The Internet is very much like a 1,000 monkeys working at a 1,000 computers -- sometimes it is "the blurst of times" but occasionally we're treated to a brilliant fever dream out of someone's fertile imagination. An intrepid YouTuber created a much improved video to LMFAO's inescapable "Party Rock Anthem" starring (for unknown reasons) Snoopy and his avian pal Woodstock, with the two evergreen cartoon characters doing the patented "Peanuts" dance to the club banger's squealing synths.

    • Britney Goes Goth in Music Video Set to Marilyn Manson

There was a point in the pop culture timeline when "America's Sweetheart" Britney Spears seemed diametrically opposed to self-described "Antichrist Superstar" Marilyn Manson, but as the '90s fade into generalized nostalgia and the iPod era's musical inclusiveness reigns, it turns out the manufactured froth-pop of Britney and the contrived shock-rock of Manson suddenly don't seem all that mutually exclusive.
