"The X Factor" has come under fire this season for its campy numbers and bombastic productions--"zombie dancers," "brides of Dracula," and crazy staging that often involves cages and pyro--but the show's director and choreographer, Brian Friedman, defended such spectacles when he talked to the press on Wednesday after the top three performed.

By Lyndsey Parker | Reality Rocks – Thu, Dec 22, 2011 3:04 PM ESTJavier Colon's post-"Voice" album, Come Through For You, didn't exactly burn up the Billboard charts when it was released last month. The album was ludicrously under-promoted, and most fans of the show, or of Javier, weren't even aware that the album was out. But now, a full month after the album's release, Javier has finally premiered the video for his single, "As Long As We Got Love" featuring Natasha Bedingfield.

photo: Steve GranitzWell, if the old adage about any publicity being good publicity is true these days, then Adam Lambert just launched a genius campaign for his new single, "Better Than I Know Myself." According to The Hollywood Reporter and many other sources, the rebel Idol spent a few hours in a Finnish jail in the wee hours this morning, after an altercation with his Finnish boyfriend, Sauli Koskinen, in front of the famous Helsinki gay club Don't Tell Momma. Adam is currently in Finland to celebrate the holidays with Sauli.Finale Night, Wednesday: Backstage with ‘The X Factor’ Finalists
By Lyndsey Parker | Reality Rocks – Thu, Dec 22, 2011 4:55 AM ESTOn Wednesday night, shortly after singing one last time to convince America's voters they're worth $5 million, Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik, and Chris Rene spoke to the press about their "X Factor" journeys. While it's still very much up in the air as to who will win Season 1, all three seemed in good spirits and confident about their future.
Check out the final three's interviews now, before Thursday night's big reveal!

By Lyndsey Parker | Reality Rocks – Thu, Dec 22, 2011 3:25 AM ESTOn Wednesday night, shortly after Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik, and Chris Rene sang one last time to convince America's voters they're worth $5 million, the "X Factor" judges spoke to the press about their contestants' chances and the show's future. Simon Cowell seemed fairly confident about his girl Melanie; L.A. Reid still had faith in Chris; Nicole Scherzinger had hope for Josh; and neutral judge Paula Abdul had love for them all, of course. And all four judges seemed confident that, with a few tweaks here or there, "The X Factor" will go on to have a successful second season. But none of them were 100 percent sure who was going to win Season 1.
Check out the judges' interviews now, before Thursday night's big reveal!

By Lyndsey Parker | Reality Rocks – Thu, Dec 22, 2011 1:30 AM ESTEarlier in the week, it was announced that the final three "X Factor" contestants would sing with "superstars" this Wednesday--an exercise, I assume, intended to help the finalists elevate their game, kind of like when the "So You Think You Can Dance" contestants pair up with allstars. Or maybe it was all just to elevate ratings. Anyway, soon all the Interweb was aflutter with speculation as to who the A-list duet partners would be. Melanie Amaro had been seemingly set up for a Mariah Carey pairing all season long, ever since Mariah's flight to Simon's Judges' House in France got rained out, and certainly since Melanie started bombarding Mimi with love-tweets all over Twitter. Chris Rene would have been a natural pairing with any big rapper out there, or maybe an R&B-crossover star like Bruno Mars. And I was personally rallying for a Josh Krajcik/Foo Fighters collabo, since Josh's Foos cover was one of his best performances of the season.

photo: FoxJosh Krajcik may not have this season's "X Factor" competition in the bag. Melanie Amaro, arguably the technically best singer on the show, is clearly being groomed by her mentor Simon Cowell to be the American Leona Lewis, and recovering addict Chris Rene has been a major fan favorite ever since he auditioned with his autobiographical "Young Homie" (which recently surpassed 10 million views on YouTube). With all three singers representing very different genres and very different fanbases, and none of them ever having been in the bottom two before, it seems like any of them could win this thing. But it's Josh who I think really deserves this victory, and I have a feeling that victory will indeed be his. Here's why.J.Lo & Marc Anthony Dance Around Divorce in Upcoming Reality Show

Marc Anthony, J.Lo, Jamie KingHands up: Who became a lot more excited about "¡Q'Viva! The Chosen"--the upcoming Latin American talent-search show helmed by Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, and "American Idol" creator Simon Fuller--once it was revealed that the show would go on despite J.Lo and Marc's divorce? I had previously figured that, since I didn't find J.Lo's softball critiques or Marc's detailed in-ear-monitor tutorials on "Idol" all that fascinating this year, I had no need to tune in to their own reality venture. But I sure as heck plan to set my DVR now, especially now that I've seen the latest trailer.Hacked This Way: Lady Gaga’s Twitter Hijacked!
