In addition to his Oscars, Hamlisch also won multiple Emmy awards, four Grammy awards, a Tony award, and even a Pulitzer Prize. Hamlisch, who composed the scores for "The Sting," "A Chorus Line," and "Sophie's Choice," was one of only two people to win those major awards plus a Pulitzer. The other was Richard Rodgers of Rodgers and Hammerstein fame.

Hamlisch was as prolific as he was talented. All told, he composed the scores for dozens of films, including "Ordinary People," "The Way We Were," "The Informant!," and 007's "The Spy Who Loved Me." His scores for "The Sting" and "The Way We Were" may be his most memorable.

photo: InstagramDid Willow Smith really get her tongue pierced? The 11-year-old actress/singer/designer posted a photo of herself showing off what looks to be a medal stud on her tongue. But hold onto your outrage, folks — it isn't real.

The photo inspired a slew of responses on Twitter. Few folks thought the tongue ring was appropriate. One person wrote, "Willow Smith got her tongue pierced at 11 years old. When I was 11, I was making sure my tamagotchi didn't die, not getting piercings." Another wrote, "Willow Smith is 11 and has a tongue ring. WHERE ARE HER PARENTS?" Still one more wrote, "Willow Smith has a tongue ring. Yo...I'm out. Bye. PS: Never having children."

Following the uproar, Willow Smith responded with a post of her own. She updated the Instagram photo with a new caption. It now reads: "It's fake…Sorry." So, there ya go.

Indie band Here We Go Magic were traveling through Ohio in their van when they came across a hitchhiker on the side of Interstate 70. The man looked a lot like legendary film director John Waters. So, the band turned around and took another look. Turns out it was John Waters, the icon behind the groundbreaking "Pink Flamingos," as well as "Hairspray" and "Cecil B. Demented."

Donna Summer, the Queen of Disco, has died at the age of 63. The five-time Grammy Award-winning artist had been battling cancer.

Summer became an icon in the 1970s, when disco music was all the rage. Even after disco was declared dead, Summer adapted to a changing musical environment and found pop success. Her string of hits included "Hot Stuff," "Last Dance," and "She Works Hard For The Money." However, of all her hits, "Love To Love You Baby" might have the most interesting backstory.

The death of Adam Yauch, also known as MCA of the Beastie Boys, inspired awesome tributes from bands around the world. Yauch was 47 and had been battling cancer for years. The tributes were in the spirit of MCA -- fun and raucous.

First, Coldplay performs "You Gotta Fight for Your Right (to Party)." Singer Chris Martin tickles the ivories and does a slow and mellow version of the party anthem. Sounds like a disaster, but Martin pulls it off. Special props for his ever-so-polite delivery of the line "Mom, you're just jealous -- it's the Beastie Boys."

Rihanna at CoachellaRihanna recently tweeted a photo of herself with what appeared to be a white powder at the Coachella music festival in California.

In the photo, the 24-year-old singer is seen sitting on the shoulders of a bodyguard. On the man's head is a white powder that many are speculating is cocaine. Rihanna appears to be cutting up the powder.

In another photo, Rihanna, who was recently named as one of TIME magazine's most influential people, appears with what resembles a marijuana joint. Rihanna posted a bizarre caption with the white powder photo: "Memories don't live like people do #coachella."

Some say that life begins at 30. But the stars of "We're Not Young" aren't exactly living the good life. Both sad and funny, the parody video from Yahoo!'s SketchY comedy series, features a 30-something guy spoofing the hit song "We Are Young," by Fun.

The tune has stayed stubbornly at number one on Billboard's hot 100, which made it a prime target for the "viral video treatment," as the Hollywood Reporter put it.

The spoof has certainly caught on: The clip has already been viewed over 600,000 times and received about 40,000 "likes" on Facebook, and counting.
