Setting red carpet records at the Grammys on Sunday night, Carrie Underwood showed up dripping in $31 million worth of diamonds. The 381-carat bling designed by Johnathon Arndt contains oval, pear, marquise and round-cut diamonds, and it sets a new bar for the priciest Grammys jewels ever worn.

Underwood, who is pulling double duty as a presenter and nominee at the 55th annual Grammy awards, paired the extravagant jewels with a black and grey strapless Robert Cavalli gown. The dress showcased the diamonds perfectly, and Underwood kept her blonde hair in simple, loose curls so as not to detract from the ensemble. She told E!'s Ryan Seacrest, "I thought sticking to something glam would be good for tonight."

Of the statement necklace, Underwood told Ryan, "It's worth more than me!"

But she explained to Seacrest that wearing the costly jewels was worrisome, claiming, "It's heavy on my soul. I'm worried someone's going to tackle me."

  • Katy Perry Didn’t Get the Memo — See Her Mint Green Grammy Whammy

Apparently Katy Perry didn't get the Grammys wardrobe memo. Perry is yet another star who pushed the limits of the wardrobe mandate at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, with a tight mint green, cleavage-baring gown that blatantly violated the memo CBS sent out to Grammy attendees. The mandate emailed earlier this week by CBS' standards and practices department demanded stars "please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered," and Perry certainly disregarded that request Sunday night.

When he asked Perry about her look, Perry discussed her inspiration.

"I was inspired by Priscilla Presley in the '70s," the pop star explained. Without addressing her scandalous dress, she chose instead to focus on her flowing hairstyle. "The big hair, closer to God," she said.

  • Jennifer Lopez Pulls an Angelina Jolie on Grammys Red Carpet

Jennifer Lopez at the Grammys (Photo: Lester Cohen/WireImage)Jennifer Lopez took a page out of Angelina Jolie's 2012 Academy Awards style, allowing her to "leg pop" while posing on the red carpet. Lopez rocked the red carpet Sunday night in a black Anthony Vaccarello gown, which bared her left arm and featured a very high slit that put her right leg on display.

"This is on the cusp of pushing the limits," E!'s Ryan Seacrest warned. "They were concerned about flesh, they sent out a memo to artists."

Lopez, whose most famous fashion moment happened at the Grammys 12 years ago in 2000, feigned ignorance to the guidelines. "They didn't say anything about leg! I thought I was being such a good girl!"

Perhaps referencing her 2000 green Versace gown, which plunged below her navel and left little to the imagination, she defended this year's fashion choice by claiming all she was displaying was "a little shoulder, a little leg!"

With so much skin on display, Seacrest teased his former "American Idol" coworker about

  • Faith Hill Rocks Braces at Grammys

Sporting an elementary accessory on Sunday night's red carpet, Faith Hill walked the red carpet and flashed her new braces. The country songstress made the mouth gear look fashionable with her black J. Mendel gown while walking the Grammy carpet.

The singer first debuted them at the Country Music Awards, which confused fans that were accustomed to her flawless smile and did not understand her need for them. Hill filled in the country station KNIX, "I had braces as a kid. I forgot to wear my retainer."

While explaining the need for a second round of dental gear, Faith advised, "kids, wear your retainer!" Hill’s two eldest daughters with husband Tim McGraw, Gracie and Maggie, both have braces, as well.

Hill and her husband, Tim McGraw, are presenters at Sunday night's 55th annual Grammy Awards.

  • Deadmau5 Censors His Grammy Wardrobe

Deadmau5 showed up on the Grammys red carpet Sunday night hand in hand with fiancée Kat Von D, and the stars made a slight wardrobe edit -- apparently to adhere to CBS' standards and practices department memo sent earlier in the week.

It appeared Deadmau5, whose real name is Joel Zimmerman, censored his own wardrobe in stay within those guidelines. Joel's hat originally read "Your S*** Bums Me Out" when he arrived at the Grammys. However, he had the 'S' covered with tape within minutes, obscuring the expletive so it read "Your Hit Bums Me Out." "Fashion Police" host Giuliana Rancic noted the tape and praised Deadmau5 for staying within those guidelines.

"It was kind of forced," Deadmau5 admitted. "By me," Von D added.

Besides keeping him in line on the red carpet, Von D can also take credit for keeping Deadmau5 in line on the road. Von D recently tweeted a picture showing off the birthday present she gave Joel.
