  • Playlist: A Whole Lot Of Honey

Honey is a great device for songwriters to use. You can find hundreds of thousands of songs that use the word "honey" somewhere in the lyrics.

I cut this playlist down to 50 songs by limiting it to only "good" songs with the word "honey" in the song title. And there are certainly a lot I've left out.

Before you freak out on me for not including The Beatles, they're not here only because their music is not available on Spotify. So instead, you get a cover version of "Wild Honey Pie" by Phish. I put it at the end of the list.

This playlist clocks in at 3 hours, so if you need something sweet today and have some time, give it a listen.

What would be on your "honey list"?

  • Most Divorced Musicians

Musicians have a horrible reputation for substance abuse and divorce. All of us can probably name ten musicians off the top of our heads who lost their battle with drugs or alcohol, but can you name the most divorced rockers of all time?

I suppose divorce among rock stars is to be expected. After all, musicians are away from home for very long periods of time, and are worshiped by adoring fans almost 24/7. When you throw drugs and alcohol into that mix you have a recipe for a disastrous marriage.

Well, the Huffington Post recently published a list of musicians who have all been divorced at least three times. Of course, I could not resist the urge to click the link when a friend posted it on Facebook. This playlist includes one song by the top most divorced musicians, according to the Huffington Post.

Most divorced musicians and the number of times each was divorced:
    Gregg Allman - 6 times
Jerry Lee Lewis - 6 times
Mike Love (The Beach Boys) - 5 times
Neal Schon (Journey) - 4 times
    Roger Waters - 3 times
Richard Wright (Pink Floyd) - 3 times
    Phil Collins - 3 times
    Tommy Lee - 3 times

  • Songs About The TV

People have loved and hated the television since it was first introduced. It certainly has contributed to an increase in the sedentary lifestyle of mankind, and it has also reduced the amount of time we spend having real face to face contact with other human beings. There are a lot of things to hate about TV. But there are also a lot of good things to find. If you so choose, you can skip mindless popular entertainment channels to learn about science, history, art, music, medicine, architecture, current events and any number of worthy subjects.

Like most things in life, it is what you make it.

Musicians are no different than other human beings inhabiting planet Earth. They too have mixed feelings about the television. Some hate it, some love it, and many have mastered using it as a metaphorical device in their songwriting.

This playlist explores the love/hate relationship music has with the T.V. and there's some seriously fantastic songs to be found.
