The next best thing (or for many reasons, even better) is the plethora of free, celeb-packed satellite parties happening around the California desert. Sadly, not everyone is on one of the tightly guarded lists, or is a perennial party It-Girl who passes through bouncers like a ghost through fog. But this year we're risking our necks and spilling some tricks of the party-crashing trade. By no means are these all the tips you need, or a guaranteed entry, but it's a good starting off point. Use your street smarts; you can thank us later.

But the actual date of the wedding stayed a close kept secret.

Dragged into the interview from the spectator's corner, all Kroeger could say about the big day was, "I can’t tell you [the date] but we’re planning it.” Chad joked, “every man knows we get very little participation in the wedding, and these are goods things. Or else Steel Panther ends up playing.” Considering the oh-so-romantic Steel Panther song that Kroeger was featured on is called "It Won't Suck Itself", it's probably for the best.

Before country singer Blake Shelton became a chart-topping superstar and TV judge, Shelton took any chance he could get to perform on stage. One of those chances? A Valentine's Day-themed beauty pageant in 1985 when he was just 8 or 9 years old! Cue the awwwws.

The eager mini Shelton bounced around the stage like a little Elvis singing Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock and Roll" as the audience clapped along.

In an interview, Shelton told CBS This Morning's Gayle King, "Because I wanted to be a singer, that was a chance for me to be in the talent portion and sing. There was a spotlight hitting me and it was just this thing that happened when I was a kid and never got over it."

Lana Del Rey's announcement tweet says it all about her freshly released video for her cover of Leonard Cohen's song "Chelsea Hoten No. 2". Simply, "new video".

Seated in a dimly lit room, the chanteuse exhales the lyrics from deeply lined lips with the same intimate sotto voce as the man who wrote them. As her biggest influence, Del Rey in general heavily emulates Cohen's current smoky, trembling singing voice. But her tremble likely comes from a lack of training, while his from a long, profound life.

The beautifully drifting cover fits rather nicely into Del Rey's continual effort to spin an image of tragic glamor. Released on his 1974 album New Sin for the Old Ceremony, the song recounts a sexual encounter of Cohen's while living at the legendary Hotel Chelsea. He revealed the encounter to be with fellow resident Janis Joplin -- a reveal that he later came to deeply regret.
