Although White Lies' 2009 debut album To Lose My Life shot straight to Number 1 in the London trio's native U.K., they haven't yet become a household name Stateside. That could be about to change with the release of their latest album, Big TV . Due out August 20 via Harvest Records, the ambitious record features arena-ready tunes tinged with darkness in the vein of Interpol and Depeche Mode that are simultaneously epic, thought-provoking and catchy.
"We all feel really good about this record," says lead singer Harry McVeigh from the living room of his flat in West London. "In some ways it's a big step on and quite different [from previous albums], but we really tried hard to focus on what makes the sound of White Lies. We tried to write songs that really fit with the sound of the band. We were thinking a lot about our live show and how well the songs would go over live. In some ways it's definitely a progression in terms of songwriting."

As if Jay-Z's epic Yahoo! Wireless Festival performance could have been any better, he brought out a special guest for his final song: Justin Timberlake.

The duo powered through a propulsive debut rendition of Holy Grail that had the entire crowd leaping into the air.
Justin appeared to raucous applause under a bright red baseball cap before his liquid vocals began rippling out over the crowd. When the beat proper dropped in we thought the ground of the Olympic Park would begin to crack from the madness that kicked off.

The Backstreet Boys sure know how to celebrate their 20th anniversary together!
For seven years, Backstreet Boys fans have waited patiently for the group to return… and now for the first time since 2006, the multi-platinum group announced that they're officially back and releasing a new album, In A World Like This , on July 30.
Shortly after the album's debut, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, and Kevin Richardson will hit the road on a 25-city North American tour. With New Kids on the Block, Boyz II Men, and 98 Degrees heading out on tour together as "The Package," the boy band drama is bound to heat up again. (Although BSB assured us there has never been a beef between all the boys.)
Although let's face it, fans picked a boy band side way back in the '90s and haven't let up since. Hot on the heels of their announcement, BSB fans took to Twitter, mercilessly hashtagging their Twitter posts with #comeseeyourboys.
The boys – who are now grown men in their 30s and 40s — caught up with Yahoo! Music to dish on what they're fans can expect from their new tour and album.

The inspiration for the 150th episode of "American Dad" came from the unlikeliest of sources: Louisville psychedelic rock band Wax Fang. The popular animated show, which aired Sunday night on Fox, featured several songs from the duo's back catalog that inspired series co-creator Mike Barker to write the episode.
"While listening to the track 'Majestic,' I was struck by an image that would eventually become the centerpiece for the whole episode," Barker told USA Today . "The Majestic would be a terrifying creature that would probe Jeff Fischer's brain and display his memories for his alien captors to see. [Wax Fang singer] Scott Carney's vocals would be sung by a hideous and bizarre creature called the Summoner, whose primary purpose is to awaken the Majestic."
Anyone who saw Sunday's episode, called "Lost In Space," was treated to a rock musical-style extravaganza in which an overweight, bespectacled alien interrogates a bewildered and befuddled Fischer as scenes of his selfish behavior flood the screen.

Justin Bieber has been involved in yet another headline-making event, but this time it's not the teen pop star's fault. After weeks of patchy press for assaulting a photographer, trying to sneak his pet monkey into Germany, and writing an odd message in the guest book at Anne Frank's house, the young performer was back to business at his concert in Dubai…when a crazed fan ran onstage and grabbed the singer from behind, a rep for Bieber tells omg! Insider.
Sporting all white (an outfit similar to Bieber's own), the young man somehow managed to get by security up to his idol before the guards caught up--which means the offender is either really sneaky, or really fast, or both. In any case, the guards wasted to no time lunging at the youth as Bieber broke free and made it to safety off to the side of the stage.
