Framed posts a different music video every week, and, then — using 21st century technology — clips 12 still frames from the video. We then write captions for these still pictures. Inevitably, our captions are topical, ironic, funny as all get-out, and, in general, praiseworthy.
The stars of our videos are the greatest music artists the world has ever known, and have included Michael Jackson, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, James Brown, Frank Sinatra, and, of course, Justin Bieber. Readers respond to the blog by posting their own comments, which are uniformly great.
This week our guest is Boyz II Men, the biggest-selling R&B group of all time, and their excellent new video, "One Up For Love," from their new, and tenth, LP, Twenty. The song has a warm, contemporary Christian feel and a simple, straightforward message that rings true.
By the way, did we mention that we get paid for writing this? A lot?
See you next week!
1 — "I thought my redesign of the music blog page went rather well. Go figure!"
2 — "An' also, God, a pony. That I can eat. Amen."
3 — "See? Perhaps contrary to readers' expectations, the sun and the moon have the same angular diameter!"
4 — "Brownie" often returned to the site of his greatest success!
5 — "Jesus, Joe, it's a three-alarmer, not 'a character in a much-loved blog'!"
6 — Florida's biannual "get out the vote" actually produces a lot more getting out than voting!
7 — Gasoline costs way more now that: (a) Obama. (b) Again, Obama. (c) Rapacious oil companies, enjoying massive tax breaks, are making record profits while destroying the environment. (d) Obama.
8 — "And how many believe the free market will also tie our shoes?"
9 — "Thanks to your sacrifices, son, the specter of an America under the Afghan boot is greatly diminished!"
10 — "Who else wants robot slaves we can rely on, but secretly despise?"
11 — "But I'm tellin' ya, man... Hitler so lost!"
12 — As He ascended to heaven, Jesus had a troubling thought: "Did I say the poor were blessed? I meant totally screwed. Oh, well, they'll figure it out."
