CCR, as the now-old people called them, offered a memorable bluegrass/swamp rock sound driven by guitarist/singer John Fogerty's catchy songs. Many of them, like "Proud Mary," "Fortunate Son," and "Bad Moon Rising," are now regarded as classics.
This week's video, "Lookin' Out My Back Door," is a down-home tune from 1970, and features some rare Creedence footage, with Fogerty kickin' it on a couch while the band pretends to play. There's no doubt you'll enjoy this nostalgic number, and -- as always! -- our very humorous captions!
Important blog note! Framed will be taking next week off, as we're driving Jim The Bird to his new home at the San Diego Zoo aviary. Jim -- perhaps Framed's most beloved continuing character -- will be in the company of Toucan Sam, Chilly Willy the Penguin, and other celebrated birds in his new digs!
See you in two weeks!
1 -- "It turns out that -- in the future -- I plagiarized myself! And not just in the future, if you catch my drift!"
2 -- "I like the future! I'm going to buy some long-playing record albums!"
3 -- "Here in the future, my 'look' is ridiculous! So, basically, nothing's changed."
4 -- Tom Fogerty suspected his name was well-known in the future!
5 -- "Did we really win the Vietnam War decisively, and with a minimum of casualties? Or is that some of sort of future joke?"
6 -- "Just got home from Vietnam/Locked the front door, goddamn/Look at all the Buddhist monks on fire on the lawn..."
7 -- "I wish they'd stop playing this music of the future..."
8 -- "Zzzz."
9 -- "Hey, I don't see any floating cities! What kind of crummy future is this?"
10 -- "Nope. Just a cloud."
11 -- "No floating cities up there, either. The future people must be slackers, indeed!"
12 -- "So none of us has ever seen the rain? Ever?"
