Framed

Kenny Chesney, Framed

Well, it's almost time for the most American season--football season--to start up again, and we were pleased to discover that Kenny Chesney's new video, "The Boys Of Fall," is all about football. On all levels from high school to pro! God bless you, country music superstar Kenny Chesney!

The video is chock full of the rah-rah that surrounds the sport, as coaches give stirring and emotional speeches to prep players, collegians strive for glory, and pros grind out that extra yard. It may, in fact, be the most all-American music video ever made, with the exception of that James Brown/"Rocky" video we featured a year or two ago. And we've learned from Y! Music blogger Wendy Geller that it's all part of an ESPN documentary.

Kenny has received numerous honors--none higher, of course, than being featured in Framed once before--and we're glad to have him back. As always, we invite you to comment, post alternate captions, and, in general, make a good impression on your peers.

Important blog note! Well, once again, we boldly reprint your best posts from the last month or so and try to make some sense of them. This insanely democratic feature of Framed recognizes you, the reader, as a participant in our little experiment, and also gives us something to do while we're getting drunk. Many thanks!

From the Travie McCoy Framed: "KORDOSH + HANGOVER + DEADLINE = LAME FRAMED."--Yahoo! Music User

Framed replies: We've already used "Let's have a drink!," right?

From the Def Leppard, Framed: "I happen to love Def Leppard and think that Rick Allen is an amazing drummer. They are all fantastic musicians and the guitar riffs are excellent. I hope one day you don't lose a limb...like maybe YOUR arm so you can't write!"--Susan

"Better to be in Def Leopard video (or any video) then to be the insignificant blogger who thinks he can make a career out of making fun of videos."--Robert

Framed replies: Susan, we don't actually write anything, we simply will things onto the internet. Robert: This is a career?

From the Moby, Framed: "That terrible American War machine has allowed Afghan girls to take the jackboot of Islamic fascism off their neck. And Moby, I guess is against all that."--John M

Framed replies: Maybe we should take another look at his new album, The Fascist Islamic Jackboot (Is Made of Stars.)

From the Tom Jones, Framed: "I predict next week's video will be by the Glam Metal band, Ratt."--Yahoo! Music User

Framed replies: And by "next week's video," you mean "the only thing that could degrade this blog any further," right?

1 -- The contact lens was somewhere!

2 -- Syracuse had a potent offense that season. And, of course, levitation.

3 -- "Too many men on the field"? Yeah, as if Gibbs High cared!

4 -- "Allah, we ask that our neighbors don't grow wise to our real agenda until it's too late."

5 -- "And, God, if you let us win this one, evolution is a fraud! Deal?"

6 -- "Nice! Now, strike a gayer pose."

7 -- "And he's brought down by Glurpo right around the twenty!"

8 -- "Who's got a smoke? C'mon, help a guy out here."

9 -- No, it wasn't going to be the Cowboys' year.

10 -- "But then I thought: 'What if a video football game fronted by a man with the face of an ogre is a good idea?'"

11 -- When Gilligan was told he'd been on the island for 43 years, the professor didn't seem so bleeping smart after all.

12 -- "I don't care if Gummo never gets back from his space mission! I! Don't! Care!"
