Framed

Kings Of Leon, Framed

Let's talk about the Kings of Leon's name. Is that a weird name for a band, or what? Since they're our guest artists this week, we decided to bring you readers the real story behind this mystery. Here's what we found:

1. The Kings of Leon consist of three brothers and a cousin, and the brothers' grandfather and father were both named Leon.

2. The Kingdom of León was a Christian kingdom in what is now part of Spain and Portugal. It existed from 910 A.D. till 1301 A.D., and there's a city called León in present-day Spain.

3. "Their name is thought to be both historical and blasphemous as a reversal of the king of Noel," according to a Christian website called the Apostolic Friends Forum.

So, to sum it up, we don't know why they're called the Kings of Leon. But we can all agree it's an amazingly stupid name. And, hopefully, blasphemous.

No matter! This week's video is "Pyro," off their new album, Come Around Sundown, which has hit #1 on many charts around the world. The whole thing takes place in a rundown bar and features a brawl with a surprising ending.

As an amusing side note, a casting company for the vid advertised for fans with "physical abnormalities" for various roles. As if anyone would be disqualified!

The result is nothing less than an artistic tour de force, so sit back, watch the video, and then read our captions. It couldn't be easier!

1 -- "Are you alright, Mr. DiMartino? Do you need an exclamation point?"

2 -- "I'm sorry, honey. There's no sign that 50 Cent's Guess Who's Back album actually refers to your back."

3 -- "Where the heck is that Rapture?"

4 -- "Well, OK, then, I'll tell you. They make you look like a very plain girl, but with glasses."

5 -- "More tequila, señor. And the head of Pancho Villa."

6 -- "Post a comment in Framed, will you?"

7 -- It was to be 5-Hour Energy's greatest challenge yet!

8 -- "My theory that incessant smoking and drinking improve one's complexion may be subtly flawed."

9 -- Maybe a pajama party in a bar wasn't such a good idea.

10 -- "Bunt? Hit and run? What if they pitch out?"

11 -- "I must leave you now, my love. My destiny lies in advertising tires."

12 -- Unhappy with the slipshod video, Gummo, The Sentient Bubble, and his twin brother, Joe, cruelly exiled everyone to the cast of the The Green Hornet!
