Framed

Michael Jackson, Framed

Happy Halloween, readers!  This year we've decided to feature what may well be not only the greatest horror/music video ever, but what may well be the greatest music video ever: Michael Jackson's "Thriller."

Are we going over the top here?  Not at all!  "Thriller" was nominated for six VMAs (and won three), and was later actually voted "the most influential music video of all time."  And, in 2006, the Guinness Book dubbed it the "most successful music video" ever.

Directed by John Landis, "Thriller" is a mash-up of horror movie chestnuts, chockfull of zombies, werewolves and is-it-a-dream-or-not? storytelling.  It's quite long -- over 14 minutes -- and was enormously expensive.  Heck, they even brought in horror icon Vincent Price to do a creepy voiceover, exclusively for the video.

We hope you and yours have a great Halloween.  This year, we've decided to go as Dave DiMartino, just to save some money on pants.  Please let us know your own plans, and stay safe!

1 --  The real horror?  A "date" with Michael Jackson.

2 --  "Oh, Michael!  Of course I'll be your beard!  Er, your girl!"

3 -- "A new Lana Del Rey album?"

4 --  "Now to join Iron Maiden!"

5 -- Holy smokes!  They let Nicolas Cage make another movie!"

6 --  "Did I leave the Jujubes at the counter?   Again?"

7 --  "And then imagine if Romney actually wins!"

8 -- Well, hell: Framed wasn't gonna write itself!

9--  Keep waitin' for that check, Bob-O.  It'll be along presently.

10 --  It was all a lie!  Raw power wasn't sure to come running to them!

11 --  "So none of the bloggers even own pants?"

12 --  "Don't worry, readers, it was all just a blog ... or was it?"
