Most of the speakers at Don Cornelius's Memorial Celebration Thursday in the Hall of Liberty at Forest Lawn in Hollywood shared their favorite memories of watching "Soul Train," Cornelius's syndicated weekly dance television show that ran for more than 30 years.

BET CEO Debra Lee remembered when Michael Jackson performed "Remember The Time" while sitting in a gold throne because he had twisted his ankle, but did not want to cancel on Cornelius.

MonicaR&B singer Monica paid tribute to Whitney Houston Tuesday night during her set on Hot 93.7's Valentine's Day Love And Laughter concert in Hartford, Conn.

Wearing a Houston t-shirt, gold lamé jacket and headband, Monica said she wanted to quiz the audience on its knowledge of Houston's history before launching into an a cappella version of the late singer's 1985 song "You Give Good Love."

Whitney Houston's final movie role was one that was close to her heart.

Houston, who died Saturday, first attempted to executive produce a remake of the 1976 film "Sparkle" more than 10 years ago, but the project was put on hold in 2001 when pop singer and actress Aaliyah was killed in a plane crash. She was set to play the title character.

R&B singer and reality star Ray J, 31, has always denied any romantic link to Whitney Houston, the superstar pop singer who was found dead Saturday in her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. She was 48, 17 years his senior.

There is no denying the two had a special bond.
