50 Cent is sorta like that bully in high school who picks on the kid who is minding his own business. Lil' Wayne became one of Fiddy's targets because a team of MTV producers ranked Lil' Weezy Number One on their list of hottest rappers. And today Kanye West catches a jab because his Graduated album is scheduled to be released on September 11, the same day as 50's Curtis Jackson.
The Kanye dis is funny because, though the Chicago rapper is known for his angry rants, he clearly attempted to avoid a conflict with 50 last week. When asked about having a best album debate with the G-Unit head, Kanye brushed the idea off as stupid. But 50 has taken the matter to a new level, telling SOHH.com that he'd retire if Kanye sells more records than him on the first week.
Guess that's hip-hop.
50 could quit rapping if he wants. He's made enough money. But that would be hilarious if Kanye had better first week numbers.
Considering 50 has twice sold more than 871,000 copies during opening week, he might actually get to stay in the game after all.
I have to admit that I like Kanye's "Stronger" and "Can't Tell Me Nothin'" better than the 50 songs. LOL.
