The Aftermath: Gangsta Boo Is Glad 2 Chainz Is OK After Run-In With Armed Robber

Gangsta Boo stopped by Yahoo! Music to promote her new mixtape, “It’s Game Involved,” but didn’t leave without also discussing this week’s hip hop news.

The original member of the legendary Three 6 Mafia crew shared her views on recent headlines involving Will and Jaden Smith, BET’s upcoming reality show about female rappers, and 2 Chainz allegedly being robbed at gunpoint.

Regarding the news of Will Smith kissing his son Jaden in the mouth during an interview in Thailand, Gangsta Boo had mixed emotions. “I understand the love that a parent has for a child, but I think at a certain age the whole mouth kissing thing isn’t official, especially when you have a son,” she said.

She was 100 percent supportive, however, of BET’s new series Hip Hop Sisters that will feature fellow female MCs MC Lyte, Lil Mama, The Lady of Rage, Yo Yo, Monie Love and Smooth. “I think it’s dope,” she said about the concept. “I’m kinda interested to see what they got going on. Definitely interested. I’ll support it,” she said.

The “Where Them Dollars At” rapstress got serious when the subject of her friend 2 Chainz’ run-in with an armed robber came up. “Sad and I’m so glad he got away. … I’m glad he’s safe and sound,” she said after watching surveillance video of the altercation. She also said she didn’t think people should be making fun of the incident. “And it’s nothing to really be posting like that as a laughing matter, he ran for his life - as anybody should with a gun pointed at his face. I would have ran too.”
