  • During the closing of her 75-minute performance at the GreekTheater in Los AngelesSunday, Erykah Badu offered a sincere, warm tribute to the late singer, actressLena Horne.

     

    After performing her song "Didn't Cha Know," Badu moved intoa rendition of Horne's song "Believe In Yourself" from The Wiz, an African-American adaptation of The Wizard Of Oz.

    In the 1978 theatrical release, Horne portrayed the GlindaThe Good Witch, amidst Diana Ross as Dorothy and Michael Jackson as thescarecrow. In the movie, Glinda comforts Dorothy, telling her that her wish toreturn home would come true if she believed in herself.

    Concertgoers initially chuckled when they heard Badusegueing "Didn't Cha Know" into "Believe In Yourself." Honestly, after an hourof Badu's standard brilliant, yet bash expletive-filled empowering set, itseemed out of character that she would turn fairy godmother on the crowd. Butshe did.

  • Online rumors that hip hop star The Game was fatally shotare untrue, a spokesperson for the artist confirmed with Yahoo! Music Monday.

     

    "Game flew this morning to Sacramento for part of his promo run," thespokesperson said in a statement.

    Early Monday morning, various websites reported that the rapartist had been killed.

    The Game dismissed the claims in a series of comical quipson his Twitter page, @ihategame.

    "Who ever started da rumor dat I was dead is funny as hell,"he tweeted. "If u gone spread rumors, b more creative. Say, I had a fight witthe Toy Story cast or sumn & it turned fatal ha ha.."

    He also played along with the joke. "My funeral is 8-24-10 @da nearest Best Buy," he continued. "The obituary is $9.99 located (in) dafront of da store. The repass is @ Walmart n the music section(.)"
