  • In 1999, pop singer Brandy released a song called "U Don't Know Me (Like U UsedTo)."

It took 10 years, but now we know what she is referring to.We've known her as the cute girl next door who sang songs about puppy love and portrayedthe sweet high schooler on her hit TV show "Moesha."

Her 1998 duet with Monica, "The Boy Is Mine," earned thethen teen singers their first Grammy.

But Brandy, the singer and actress, has recently revealed aside of herself unknown to even die-hard fans including this blogger.

Brandy has a rap alter ego, Bran' Nu, who was recently puton display on Timbaland's new album, "Shock Value II." Bran' Nu appears on thesong "Meet In Tha Middle," and performed with Timbaland at his Flordia albumrelease party.

Bran' Nu is not Moesha, or the Brandy Norwood we have cometo know from her music.

Bran' Nu sounds like a credible rapper with good lyrics. She's not a pop incarnation rapper like other transformed pop divas, Fergie,Nelly Furtado or Gwen Stefani.

  • You'd think that the remakes of Beyoncé's "Single Ladies(Put A Ring On It)" would die-down by now. It's been one year.

But the song is experiencing a second wind. Beyoncéperformed the anthem at award shows through late summer. Joe Jonas remade it inJune, and covers on "Glee" and now the new Alvin And The Chipmunks film havefollowed.

Maybe Kanye had a point? Is Beyoncé's "Single Ladies" one ofthe best videos of all time?

Here is a recap of some of the most memorable parodies ofthe short that took the MTV Video Music Award's Video Of The Year honor:

All The Chipmunks, Put Ya Hands Up

Looks like Beyoncé is theinspiration for yet another all-girl trio. "Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel"premieres a new sensation, The Chipettes that includes members Brittany,Jeanette, and Eleanor. The girls capture the attention of Alvin, Simon andTheodore, when the boys catch their salacious performance of Beyoné's "SingleLadies." I'd like to start a rumor that Matthew Knowles is in talks to

  • For the first time, an AlvinAnd The Chipmunks movie has a performance that I want to see.

This is ironic because AlvinAnd The Chipmunks is a musical group. But that was always secondary to theircomedic antics, mischief and high-pitched voices.

Their latest film, "Alvin AndThe Chipmunks: The Squeakquel" has sparked a buzz, especially among kids, forits trailer that offers a clip of lady chipmunks performing the video KanyeWest has arguably dubbed "one of the best videos of all time."

I was never a fan of Beyoncé's"Single Ladies" song. All the yelling is unnerving--"All the single ladies, allthe single ladies, all the single ladies..." I thought the video was toosimplistic, and reminded me of an aerobics class.

It's not Alvin, Theodore andSimon who take the Beyoncé viral clip to task; it's their female counterparts,The Chipettes. The all girl pop trio including members Brittany, Jeanette, andEleanor work the stage, showing the global singer that they can also tackle theBob

  • Omarionhas released a 2-minute teaser clip from his latest video, "Hoodie" featuringJay Rock.

The video is a tribute to the late Michael Jackson. While Omarion incorporates moderndancing, the look and feel of the vid is reminiscent of Michael Jackson's "BeatIt."

Additionally, the video has another special element, anappearance from Omarion's mother. Leslie Burrell. Burrell, who is also adancer, joins her son in a jerk dance scene.

I give Miss Burrell her props. She looks good. Without adoubt, Omarion inherited some of her fancy footwork. She could get some of hergirls and compete on America'sBest Dance Crew.

The full length "Hoodie" video will be released next week.Omarion's album "Ollusion" is due out on January 12, 2010.
