  • The BET Awards never disappoints when it comes to performances. Let's do a little roll call.

Remember when Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle brought Terrence Howard, Nelly and Magic Johnson on stage, respectively, and serenaded them with a "Cater 2 U"?

What about BET Awards '08 when Ciara joined Chris Brown on stage to bring their Matrix moves live on stage?

My all time favorite remains Mo'Nique's big girl version of "Crazy In Love" that drew a standing ovation from everyone in the audience, including the front-and-center Miss Beyonce herself. In 2007, she returned to put her spin on Beyonce's "Deja Vu."

In helping promoting this year's show, Day26 stopped by 106 & Park to talk about being nominated in the best group category. Click here to see what they told hosts Terrence J and Rocsi.

  • As we mourn the loss of Michael Jackson, the undeniable King of Pop, who succumbed to cardiac arrest Thursday, we take a look back at some of top news making moments in his life.

    10) Michael Extends A Hand

Michael teamed with fellow pop star Lionel Richie to write the song "We Are The World," an All-Star benefit that included dozens of noted artists: Diana Ross, Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, Bette Middler and Cyndi Lauper. The Quincy Jones produced song benefited United Support Of Artists For Africa and sold 800,000 copies.

    9) Michael Amuses Himself
Since Michael's hectic professional work schedule prevented him from having a normal childhood, it is not surprising the he would eventually build his own personal amusement park. Michael opened the Neverland Ranch in 1988 on the lot of his estate in California's San Ynez Valley. The 2,800 acre attraction was both a zoo and theme park featuring a Ferris wheel, children's roller coaster, merry-go-round and exotic animals. Neverland was

  • It still has not hit me. It feels so strange. Michael Jackson is dead. He was only 50years old, a milestone age. He just celebrated the 25th anniversaryof "Thriller," the best-selling albumof all time, and re-released it in February.

He was scheduled to start his show run in London in a few weeks.

Maybe Michael's career had reached its peak, but I was not convinced thathe was done with music. When he turned 50 last August, I did a series of interviews withradio stations. All of the DJs asked me if I thought Michael Jackson could makea comeback. They wanted to know if he could get past the controversies thatdominated his news coverage over the last 10-plus years. My answer was amatter-of-fact "yes."

People often underestimate the power of music, and theeffect that it has on us. We sometimes forget how a great song with a feel-goodmessage lifts us up, and makes us smile and remember the place we had the most fundancing to it and with whom.

Michael Jackson is one of the few artists in

  • Chris Brown's record labelsquashed rumors Wednesday that newly leaked songs were actually old demos.

The clarification was importantbecause one of the songs in particular is called "Not My Fault." It would have beenin extreme poor taste for Chris to release that song just a day after strikinga plea deal, admitting guilt to one count of felony assault against his formergirlfriend Rihanna.

"Countering misleading reports of'new' Chris Brown music: there are no 'new' songs from Chris Brown currentlybeing promoted by Chris or his record label," a spokesperson for Jive Recordssaid in a statement, MTV reports. "There are several old demos circulating thatare being falsely promoted as new material from Chris."

The question that is not addressedin the statement is When was the song "Not My Fault" recorded? The lyricalcontent does not describe domestic abuse, but instead is about a man who had a flingwith a girl who is upset because she wants more from the relationship.
