  • Chris Brown's record labelsquashed rumors Wednesday that newly leaked songs were actually old demos.

The clarification was importantbecause one of the songs in particular is called "Not My Fault." It would have beenin extreme poor taste for Chris to release that song just a day after strikinga plea deal, admitting guilt to one count of felony assault against his formergirlfriend Rihanna.

"Countering misleading reports of'new' Chris Brown music: there are no 'new' songs from Chris Brown currentlybeing promoted by Chris or his record label," a spokesperson for Jive Recordssaid in a statement, MTV reports. "There are several old demos circulating thatare being falsely promoted as new material from Chris."

The question that is not addressedin the statement is When was the song "Not My Fault" recorded? The lyricalcontent does not describe domestic abuse, but instead is about a man who had a flingwith a girl who is upset because she wants more from the relationship.

    Chris sings, "See the

  • Did you see T-Pain Auto-Tuning with Taylor Swift Tuesday at the Country Music Awards? During a skit, Taylor Swift has a three-part dream. One of her dreams is to make a rap record.

For some strange reason Taylor's hip-hop fantasy does not include lyrical rap king Jay-Z who recently sparked a buzz with his song "Death Of Auto-Tune." Instead, Taylor actually has the nerve to record a track and video with T-Pain, the guy Jay-Z blames on "D.O.A." for ruining the genre.

In the 90-second video spoof "Thug Story," cutesy Swift adopts gangsta attire, a white T, diamond-encrusted grill and plenty of bling around her neck as she raps alongside T-Pain about her thuggish tales of living with her parents, baking cookies and not owning a gun.

While the concept is genius, the skit isn't as funny as it could have been. (See my colleague Wendy Geller's full CMT review for her take.) Still, the timing is great, considering all the attention Jay-Z has been getting for "D.O.A."

    I know that T-Pain didn't

  • Grammy award winning pop singer Usher Raymond IV filed for divorce from his wife Tameka Foster, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

After days of speculation of an impending legal separation, the split was confirmed when the petition was filed Friday in Fulton County Superior Court.

The couple that would have celebrated its second wedding anniversary in September is scheduled for a July 15 hearing before Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane.

Raymond and Foster have two sons. Usher Raymond V is 1 1/2-years-old and Naviyd Ely Raymond is 6-months-old. Foster, who was previously married, has three additional children from that union.

Unfortunately, the couple's marriage was met with scrutiny from the start. Rumors claimed that Foster left her previous husband to be with Raymond. Raymond's mother and manager reportedly did not approve of the marriage. And blogs dogged Foster, 38, arguing that she was too old for Usher, 30, and was not got a good match for him.

  • Chris Brown and Rihanna must be enjoying their control of the media. Thursday night the ex-couple was spotted sitting on opposite ends of the same row at the National Basketball Association Finals in Orlando.

Wednesday Rihanna was photographed at the Black Eyed Peas' album release party hugging fast rising hip-hop artist Drake with whom she has been rumored to be dating. At least one blog reported seeing the two kissing at a Manhattan bowling alley last month.

Tuesday Chris' bid to delay the hearing in his case involving an alleged assault charges against Rihanna was denied.

All these things make for a great lead up to the hearing scheduled for Monday, June 22.

Rihanna's attorney Donald Etra confirmed to US Weekly that his client would cooperate with the court's subpoena for her to testify.

The question is, what will she say?

It's my guess that Rihanna will go easy on Chris. I imagine that she will tell a version of the story that won't make him look like a villain. Last month, Chris

  • I probably have more Beyonce jokes than anybody you know. But even still, I can't deny the effort she puts into her stage show.

Beyonce pulled off a big one Tuesday at her last night of her I AM tour run at London's O2.

For her encore performance of her No. 1 hit "If I Were A Boy," Beyonce brought on stage icon George Michael for a duet that had her gushing. Beyonce typically performs in Sasha Fierce mode. Her facial expressions are nearly emotionless and stone-faced as she zones out to get into her alter ego.

But for this rendition, the former Destiny's Child front woman breaks character as she stands next to the "Careless Whisper" singer. Dressed in a futurist Amazon costume and dark sunglasses like she wears with her police uniform in the "If I Were A Boy" video, Beyonce can't help smiling and blushing as she watches Michael sing the lyrics to her song.

Within seconds, Beyonce lets the tough girl act dissipate and even takes off her shades before turning to sing the track face to

  • It's been a good minute since a rap song sent the massesabuzz. So props to Jay-Z for setting this one off with "Death Of Auto-Tune."

People can't stop talking about the track released last weekthat slams the computer enhanced hip-hop vocals currently dominating thecharts. We've all been complaining, saying that the genre full of copy catemcees is lacking originality. Auto-Tune forerunner T-Pain even dissed unnamedand unauthorized adopters of his style on last year's comedic "Karaoke."

Jay-Z rhymes that people are "T-Pain'ing" too much and addsthat he has had enough of hip-hop's ringtone obsessed era.

Apparently, T-Pain doesn't take offense to Jigga's brashcriticism that portrays Auto-Tune as the downfall of hip-hop. Jay-Z received anunannounced visit from Pain during his own surprise visit to Hot 97's SummerJam concert Sunday in New York.In the midst of performing his instant classic, Pain walked onto the stage andstood alongside Jay as he rapped.

While I'm glad to know T-Pain's

  • Seems like former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland had a plan all along. In January she and D.C. manager and Beyonce's dad Matthew Knowles announced that his company would no longer represent her (blog). Not long afterwards, it was reported that she ended her ties with Columbia Records.

No record label and no high powered manager felt like a risky move. But I still thought Kelly could be okay if she made the right strategic decisions. Well, she seems to be doing that.

Today, Yahoo! Music premieres her first music video independent of Knowles and Columbia Records. Kelly who has found much more success as a solo artist internationally than in the US, has teamed with French DJ David Guetta as the lead vocalist on his track "When Love Takes Over."

The pop dance track is No. 2 this week on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart and sounds completely different than anything she has done with Destiny's Child. Even though many popular dance tracks are sung by faceless talents, I think

  • If your knowledge of MC Hammer starts with his insanely popular song "U Can't Touch This" from his 10 times platinum album Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em and ends with his then signature baggy, genie-like pants with the extended crotch, then you should catch Hammertime, his new A&E reality show which debuts June 14.

It is here that you'll get to meet Stanley Kirk Burrell, the real life persona of the '90s rap star who made $33 million, had a $12 million mansion and secured lucrative endorsement deals with KFC, Taco Bell and Pepsi before filing for bankruptcy.

Hammertime will follow Hammer, who lives in Oakland, California with his wife of 23 years. He has six children.

Ironically, it wasn't Burrell's rapping skills that got him the name MC Hammer. Long before he picked up a mic, the then 13-year-old kid from Oakland received the nickname from baseball legend Reggie Jackson.

Burrell earned a gig as the batboy for the Oakland A's after catching the attention of the team owner Charlie
