The KanyeWest and Lady GaGa "FameKills" tour has been cancelled, concert promoter Live Nation announced Thursday without explanation.

The cancellation of the tour was unexpected, as Lady GaGawas in the midst of conducting press about the show.

In an interview with Big Boy's Neighborhood morning show onPower 106 in Los Angeles, the pop singer discussed the concept of the concert.

Lady GaGa said she and Kanye designed a never-before-seen"transverse" stage that featured a catwalk that spanned the width of the venue.

Lady GaGa added that the concept sought to bring bothartists together as she pursued Kanye's fame, and he desired to return home.

Gossip blog MediaTakeOut.comspeculated Wednesday that Lady GaGa would be pulling out of the tour, describing it as fallout from the MTV Video Music Awards fiasco.

In September, Kanye received flack for interrupting TaylorSwift's Best Female Award acceptance speech, suggesting that Beyonce wasoverlooked. Kanye's typical award show antics sparked more media attention thanany other aspect of the show, including the Michael Jackson tribute andperformances from Jay-Z and Alicia Keys as well as Lady GaGa.

The following night, Kanye offered an apology on The JayLeno Show and discussed taking a break for the first time since his motherpassed away nearly two years ago.

Within a day, the tour dates were no longer listed on thePollstar.com site. The LosAngeles Times' Pop & Hiss blog questioned whether Kanye would be takingthe time off.

Then, representatives for the artists, venue, and promoterdeclined to confirm the tour.

This is too bad. I was looking forward to seeing this tour.
