Suspect In Las Vegas Strip Triple Homicide Arrested

Ammar Harris (Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department)A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a shooting in Las Vegas last week that resulted in three deaths, NBC reports.

Ammar Harris, 26, was arrested in Los Angeles, the Clark County District Attorney’s Office told NBC Thursday.

Up-and-coming rap artist Kenny Clutch, whose real name is Kenneth Wayne Cherry Jr., was fatally shot on Thursday, February 21, while driving down the Las Vegas Strip.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department posted photos of Harris on its website Wednesday, referring to him as a suspect and person of interest in the triple homicide.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Lieutenant Ray Steiber discussed Harris during a press conference Monday.

Kenny Clutch“We are confident that Ammar Harris was and is the only shooter on that night,” Steiber said, according to Reuters. “At this point Ammar Harris is the one responsible for the shooting and the murder of three individuals.”

Harris reportedly has a criminal record that includes kidnapping, robbery and sexual assault, Reuters reports.

Steiber said officers did not find any weapons in Cherry’s Maserati.

After Cherry was killed, his car crashed into a taxi, killing the driver and his passenger.

The Clark Country District Attorney’s Office declined to comment when contacted by Yahoo! Music. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police department did not immediately respond to Yahoo! Music’s request for comment.
