Ryan Shaw’s ‘Evermore’ Revives Classic Soul

Soul singer Ryan Shaw is preparing for the May 15 release of his third album, "Real Love," and he's given Hip Hop Media Training a first look at a live video for his song "Evermore."

Ryan Shaw (photo: Carol Friedman)On "Evermore," Shaw sings about giving the "best of his love" over an easy-riding throwback ballad enhanced with light electric guitar strokes and pleasant background harmonies. The track evokes memories of GQ's late 1970's classic "I Do Love You."

Shaw said the song sets the mood for June. "Evermore is a classic romantic soul vibe. You don't hear much of that these days. It's a summer night on the beach with the one you love," he said.

Okayplayer described Shaw as a funky mixture of Sam Cooke and Cee-Lo Green.

The twice Grammy nominated Georgia singer released his debut, "This Is Ryan Shaw" in 2007 and its follow up "It Gets Better" in 2010.
