Rye Rye On ‘GO POP BANG,’ Rapping Like Tupac, M.I.A., And Baltimore Club Dancing

Hip hop dance artist Rye Rye was just as energetic and fun as her music when she stopped by the Yahoo! offices to discuss her long-anticipated debut, "GO! POP! BANG!," on M.I.A.'s N.E.E.T. Records and Interscope.

Rye Rye said the album delays worked out for the best, allowing her an opportunity to work with the likes of Pharrell and Bangladesh. She said M.I.A. gave her creative freedom in the studio. "It was awesome," she said. "It just felt like me. She didn't try to change who I was."

Rye Rye was discovered by DJ Blaqstarr when she was still in high school. The popular Baltimore DJ was friends with Rye Rye's older sister. When Blaqstarr asked Rye Rye's sister if the high-pitched-voiced teen could rap, Rye Rye responded by rapping a song on his voicemail. "It was real gangsta," she said, adding that she was "spitting like Tupac."

Rye Rye also discusses rhyming over Miley Cyrus, Flo Rida and Ke$ha instrumentals her "RYEot PowRR" mixtape, released last fall, her love for dancing, and touring with LMFAO, Katy Perry and Robyn.
