Thi'sl and his motherFinally, a two-step jam for mamas. St. Louis rapper Thi'sl sends a shout out to his mother, grandmother and single mothers with his song, "Hey Moma," a nice mid-tempo track. On the record featuring an R&B chorus from Fitzgerald, Thi'sl apologizes for having been a troublesome youth.
Thi'sl raps, "Hey mama, I wanna say mama, sorry for the long nights and all that drama. Every phone call, I know it was hard, hoping I wasn't laid out dead or behind bars." He also pays respects to his late grandmother who had a "heart of gold." He conveys remorse for having sold drugs and being ungrateful which he depicted in the video.
The final verse celebrates the women struggling to raise kids on their own.
I can see mother's doing the electric slide to this one at Mother's Day gatherings.
