The Rocky Horror Picture Show movie cast once famously sang, "Let's do the Time Warp again," and the Polyphonic Spree apparently took those words literally. When the Dallas psych-pop choir/collective/cult performed Thursday night in the Cinema Tent at Manchester, Tennessee's Bonnaroo Festival, they presented their own warped version of the entire sequential Rocky Horror soundtrack, led by "sweet transvestite" and longtime Spree visionary Tim DeLaughter.

A series of heavy rains have only served to multiply the mud fields generated at the 44th Annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival’s first weekend at the Fair Grounds Race Course. On my way in for the first day of weekend #2, with threatening clouds overhead (again), I pass by some serious testifying by the Singing Mustangs Choir to find that some of the track’s grassy infield has become a beach. It's only rock 'n' roll, but a lot of people, including some very big-name celebrities, sure seem to like it. On Friday, May 3, the Rolling Stones celebrated a half-century in the music biz by kicking off their "50 and Counting" tour at Los Angeles's Staples Center, and they were joined--onstage and in the audience--by some very famous guests.
