One of the currently hottest artists in country music's new-school crop is Jason Aldean--who's been making records since 2005, and has enjoyed the experience of seeing every single year shine brighter than the last, with 2010 to the present being nothing short of explosive. The singer rattled a few cages by dueting with rap star Ludacris ("Dirt Road Anthem"), won even more hearts by pairing up with American Idol Kelly Clarkson ("Don't You Wanna Stay"), and picked up a crazy amount of awards and award nominations along the way during that period, including the prestigious Album of the Year title at the 2011 Country Music Association Awards.Aldean's newest album, Night Train, will be released next month, and it's an apt name--things are continuing to speed along at breakneck pace for him. Who has time to sleep? Aldean will be zooming in to Las Vegas Friday to headline the 2012 iHeartRadio music festival, but he managed to take a few minutes out of his schedule to catch up with Yahoo! Music.
Jason Aldean (Photo: Sara Kauss)YAHOO!: When you take the stage at the iHeartRadio festival, you'll be playing to a lot of country and non-country fans alike. Are you planning to do anything special during your set, considering this? Any surprises in store for your hardcore fans?ALDEAN: I'm just kinda gonna enjoy it. I heard a lot of cool stuff about [the festival] last year, and I think it's a cool opportunity for us to go out and turn people on to our music who maybe haven't been aware of it. It's a cool way for every artist to cross genres a little bit, and branch out to some new listeners. So that's the thing that I'm probably most excited about.

By Chris Willman | Maximum Performance – Fri, Sep 14, 2012 8:24 PM EDTOn Pink's new album, she's writing about volatile relationships, again—albeit mostly their upside this time. "I hate you, I really hate you —so much I think it must be true love," she sings, providing a tip-off that there's more loving than loathing on The Truth About Love, her sixth studio album.
PinkPink is having a very splashy mid-September, between the Tuesday release of Truth About Love and her weekend appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival. Although she's long been known as the gal who was ready to "get this party started," much of her songwriting over the years has been more lovelorn than celebrative. That's not so much the case with Truth, which suggests that Pink is experiencing enough domestic tranquility that she has a real reason to party now.

Miranda Lambert Can’t Slow Down! Singer Talks Pistol Annies, CMA Nominations, And That Hit Show Her Husband’s On

When Miranda Lambert rolls into Las Vegas to play the iHeartRadio music festival, she'll definitely be all warmed up and ready to go. The country superstar has been busy on the road with her own solo headlining tour--and just jumped into touring this month with her other musical project, "Hell On Heels" girl-trio the Pistol Annies. It's a good thing she's keeping her muscles warm, because the remainder of 2012 in general isn't slowing down one bit for Lambert. She's nominated for four trophies at the Country Music Association Awards in November, she's got a TV series in the works, she's working on new music for both herself and the Annies--and, of course, she's got to keep up with fellow celeb husband Blake Shelton's doings on the hit reality show The Voice. One definitely has to be the "Fastest Girl In Town" to keep up with all of that! However, Lambert managed a few minutes to catch up with Yahoo! Music about everything she's juggling at the moment.
Miranda Lambert (Photo: Rick Diamond)YAHOO!: How do you feel about playing the iHeartRadio fest, knowing that your performance will be streamed to a much larger audience than even the biggest arena can hold? Do you have any special plans for your set?LAMBERT: You know what, we're just going to do what we've been doing. We've been touring all year since January, we're winding down, and it was an amazing tour. So I think we're just going to bring what we've been doing! It's worked all year and it's been awesome. And I've got the Pistol Annies coming out, so that's a special extra little something that people get from us. I'll do my set and then have the girls come out and do two songs, and we're gonna do what we do and move on.

By Tiffany Lee | Maximum Performance – Fri, Sep 14, 2012 6:28 PM EDTImagine a hip-hop producer taking the reigns on recording an indie rock band--and no, it's not another one of Snoop Dogg's random projects. No need to mess yourself over the endless consequences, because Las Vegas band Imagine Dragons has already gone down that slippery slope and came out on top. The four-piece group made up of front man Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee and drummer Daniel Platzman has mind-melded indie rock with just enough bits of other genres to create a unique, rallying-cry sound that has us (and apparently music-buyers as a whole) flying, like on the wings of fantasy beasts.
Their rousing brand of indie rock incorporates everything tinkering guitars to epic crescendos to full-on dubstep breaks, almost like a melange of elements that seems to be crowding the Grammy ballots, thankfully without scraggly beards or half-shaved heads. Figures since Imagine Dragons were plucked out of obscurity by producer Alex Da Kid, who has worked mostly in the

Pitbull, before fameCuban rapper Pitbull, who will be taking the stage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas next Saturday, didn't always have such a clean-cut, sharply dressed image. Before the Miami entertainer shaved his head and started wearing suits, he wore his hair long and in braids. He recently posted an old photo of himself on his Facebook page along with the caption, "ever wonder what I looked like b4 I went worldwide??? this is the original Mr 305 right here!!!! DALEEEE!!!"
The artist known for a long list of hits including "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)," "Krazy," "Give Me Everything" and "International Love" has made significant strides since landing his first recording deal in 2001 on Luke Records, the company owned by 2 Live Crew founder Luther Campbell.

It was during his time on Luke Records that Pitbull's A&R executive secured him a spot on Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz's Kings Of Crunk album. He was next featured on the soundtrack for 2 Fast 2 Furious, and in 2004 put out his debut album, M.I.A.M.I. His career immediately took off after the release of M.I.A.M.I.'s debut single, "Culo."
Need Help Reaching George Lucas? Just Ask Jon Bon Jovi!
By Wendy Geller | Maximum Performance – Wed, Sep 12, 2012 4:28 PM EDT
Multiplatinum rockers Bon Jovi are gearing up to play the iHeartRadio music festival in Las Vegas this month, but that's not all the guys in the band have been up to lately. In addition to working on music for their next album (release date to be announced), they've also been helping some of their buddies hammer out new tunes as well. In fact, they assisted one particular duo in a way that even the most hardcore of fans would not be able to expect! How's that? Well, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora are friends with Nashville upstarts Big & Rich (yup, Rich as in John Rich, who won Celebrity Apprentice last year). Having worked with the pair a few years ago on a songwriting project, B&R's Big Kenny called up JBJ and Sambora to see if they'd like to help out on Big & Rich's upcoming album, which will be released September 18.
Kenny told Detroit's 99.5 WYCD that the Bon Jovi guys were "incredibly excited" to collaborate, and that they all met up in New York to get to work. While hard at work recording, Jon Bon Jovi made a comment that would prove to be integral to the project.
Bon Jovi and Sambora (Photo: Robert Marquardt)"One of the songs has the line 'Hillbilly Jedis with attitude,'" John Rich told 99.5. "Jon Bon looked at us and said, 'If there were ever Hillbilly Jedis, it's the two of y'all.'"Sounds like a joke--but it ended up being the title of Big & Rich's album. However, the title almost never came to be. Big & Rich's record label vetoed the idea, since famed Star Wars director George Lucas owns the rights to the term "jedi" and it was doubtful he'd grant permission for its use.
When Big Kenny broke this disappointing news to Jon Bon Jovi--the star didn't even skip a beat. He whipped out his phone and called Lucas, himself, right then and there. Unbelievable? Well, Lucas apparently couldn't resist JBJ's charms--Big & Rich's new album is now formally titled Hillbilly Jedi.

Linkin ParkLinkin Park has been getting huge media attention for the band's latest video, "Lost in the Echo," which is being described as a breakthrough in interactivity. Contrary to some previous interactive music videos, where you had to take the initiative of uploading imagery to become part of the clip, this "personalized film experience" does all the work for you, as long as you allow it to connect to your Facebook account and borrow imagery from what you have stockpiled there.Of course, when Linkin Park plays the iHeartRadio Festival—a multi-superstar show in Las Vegas that will be streamed live over Yahoo!—home viewers won't have to worry about seeing themselves in the footage, unless it's in the reflective glare of the laptop or smartphone screen. For those of us who'd rather see prettier and/or more talented people than ourselves on-screen, this may be cause for a sigh of relief.

Once rappers achieve superstar status, they begin to divide their time between other business pursuits. But Lil Wayne is keeping his music in the forefront, releasing Dedication 4, the fourth set in his Dedication mixtape series.Lack of substance aside, the New Orleans rapper performing at the iHeartRadio Music Festival later this month, gushes rapid-fire rhymes about his female conquests over some of the year's hottest beats from his contemporaries Ca$h Out ("Cashin' Out"), Meek Mill ("Amen"), Future ("Same Damn Time") and Kanye West ("Mercy").

Brad Paisley (photo by Jim Shea)When Brad Paisley performs at the iHeartRadio Music Festival June 21-22, he isn't taking anything for granted—least of all that it'll be just his fans tuning in for the webcast, taking place live from Las Vegas. Hard as it might be to imagine he needs any more converts, Paisley's aiming to win a few when he settles into Sin City for one of his typically electrifying sets. Seems like a good gamble.Yahoo! checked in with Paisley for an exclusive interview in advance of the show, where we queried him not just about this gig but a historic one he has coming up at the Hollywood Bowl. We also took the occasion to ask him about the new job his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley has on the soon-to-debut ABC series Nashville, as well as being on tour with the Band Perry and Scotty McCreery, and what 2013 holds for him as a recording artist.
