    They’re Talking About Hugh!

One would have to be blind, deaf & dumb to not recognize the acting talent of Hugh Laurie--the likable Brit who's become an international sensation via his role as cheerily abrasive Dr. Gregory House on Fox Television's House.

    But the musical talent?

You'll be enormously surprised by Laurie's prowess as both player and singer--amply on display on his brand new album Let Them Talk, which, British though he is, joyously celebrates the best of blues and New Orleans classics.

Recorded here in the States and produced by Joe Henry--an impeccable musician in his own right--Let Them Talk features a host of not just famous, but famously musical names, including such New Orleans royalty as Irma Thomas, Allen Toussaint and Dr. John, and Welsh singing superstar Tom Jones. Among the familiar tunes covered are the classic "St. James Infirmary," "Battle Of Jericho," "John Henry,"  and "Swanee River" among others--and frankly, when  one hears Laurie speak without the American accent he uses for his television show, one can't help but wonder how a young, British-born music lover would have fallen so deeply in love with such profoundly American music.

The answer to that and more emerged in our delightful interview with Laurie, which came after a rousing, highly sophisticated set of music he performed in the Y! Music studios. Well-played music, well-spoken artist: Hugh Laurie was a complete delight, and we're grateful he paid us a visit. Just take a look.

I hear smacks of "House (funny) of the Rising Sun" in the middle before Hugh starts singing...coincidence?

Hugh has always been a fantastic musician.. So, it's about time that he has finally released the album that he's been dreaming of doing! The CD is perfect and it's now a cherished part of my music collection. Bravo, Encore and I hope there will be many more recordings to look forward to! Hugh Laurie is a brilliant Musician, Actor, Writer, Director, International Man of Mystery... All that and so much more!

When I first started watching "HOUSE", (I'm a certified MT, Medical Coder & CADC), I was in AWE, of how you go about making diagnoses!
I still enjoy watching you, do that thing.
I never knew that you were a musician, but I did see you play the piano & noticed that you we're always listening to music, in your office on house.
I guess it must be true, for I have JUST ENJOYED listening to some of your BLUES, on Yahoo Music.
PS: Don't let your contract end.
I LOVE watching you diagnose and play music.
      HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU.

YOU ARE THE BEST !!!!!!! Please never again put yourself down....... YOU are SUPER !!!! I have enjoyed your movies, live and just voiced for years, and HOUSE has been my FAVE since it started !!!!! I too, wish you were allowed to speak naturally in it, the writers wre nuts when they insisted you should use an American accent. But, as all you do, your American accent is great, but, your natural British voice is SOOOOOOO much sexier !!!!! God Bless you, and keep doing ALL you want to do !!!! THANK YOU !!!!!!
