Breaking News: Pitbull to Host 2013 American Music Awards!

There's a huge music shindig coming up on November 24 — namely, the 2013 American Music Awards — and the show has found a host worthy of the occasion. Yahoo Music has exclusively learned that international superstar and multiplatinum-selling artist Pitbull will be getting the party started.

Pitbull will be serving as the show’s first host since 2008; and to further the fun, he will also perform his new hit single "Timber” with fellow pop star Ke$ha.

"I am truly honored to be hosting the 2013 American Music Awards,” Pitbull noted of his new post. "The night is only about one thing: fun! So buckle and get ready. Dále!”

"Pitbull is a multi-talented global superstar and the right man to take the reins of the night, which is going to be one great party," added American Music Awards Producer Larry Klein. "That’s why he is called 'Mr. Worldwide.' He's the perfect choice to celebrate the universal language of music.”

Pitbull and Ke$ha join previously announced performers Luke Bryan, Miley Cyrus, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Gaga, Imagine Dragons, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and One Direction. Stay tuned for more performers and presenters to be announced in the coming days!
