Football fans may have been divided between Denver and Seattle during Sunday night's telecast of Super Bowl 48...but there's one thing everyone seemed to be unanimously rooting for: Joe Namath's coat.
The 70-year-old NFL legend showed up to perform the opening coin toss for the big game dressed in what can only be described as a totally pimped-out, classic fur coat. Boom: The Twittersphere promptly exploded with jokes, a fake "Joe Namath's Coat" account...and comparisons to the hottest grandpa-style-sporting star around.Yup, Macklemore.
Although seemingly everyone else in the world (well, the U.S.A., anyway) was discussing Namath's bummy and grungy grandeur, Macklemore himself did not publicly comment. The Seattle native and rabid Seahawks fan had a good reason, however: He was likely busy watching the game. The four-time Grammy winner headed out to New York on Thursday with his fave team, documenting his journey on Instagram.
