Trent Reznor to Grammy Producers: A 'Heartfelt' Eff You

It's Trent Reznor vs. the Grammys… part two.

The Nine Inch Nails frontman blasted CBS and the show's producers on Sunday night after his finale performance was cut short.

"Music's biggest night… to be disrespected. A heartfelt F--- YOU guys," he tweeted.

Sunday night's awards show was running about 15 minutes late by the time Nine Inch Nails took the stage with Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Grohl, and Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham. The group was able to perform NIN's "Copy of A," and QOTSA's "My God Is the Sun," before getting cut off by the closing credits of the show.

Backstage, Recording Academy president Neil Portnow defended that decision to reporters.

"We save the end slot for something that is a bit of a jam, because you can have the energy go and then it's just a matter of the clock," he said.

As the credits rolled onscreen, many celebrities in attendence also began to stream out of the venue. Stars like Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, and Macklemore left before the lights went up at Staples Center. However, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr were among a few celebs who waited it out until the end.

This isn't the first time Reznor has gone off on the Grammys.

In December 2011, Trent told The Hollywood Reporter, "Why don't the Grammys matter? Because it feels rigged and cheap — like a popularity contest that the insiders club has decided."
