A Double Dose Of ‘Idol’ Albums Slated For October!

American Idol fans--and just plain ol' country-music fans--can prepare themselves for a nice one-two punch of a treat in the month of October. AI Season 10 champion Scotty McCreery will be releasing his debut album on October 4, followed by runner-up Lauren Alaina's one week later.

McCreery's effort is titled Clear As Day, and the young Idol notes that he put in a lot of hard effort in studios across the country in order to complete it (he's been on the road with the American Idols Live! tour that runs through September). "I really hope everyone likes it," he notes. "It has some old country influences and elements, but it also has a contemporary feel with fun up-tempo songs. It's a good mixture."

Clear As Day will hit stores right before McCreery's 18th birthday, which falls on October 9.

Meanwhile, Alaina also has announced the title of her October 11 release--it's called Wildflower. "I would consider myself a wildflower," the 16-year-old explains. "Because wildflowers are sweet, but then they have a little bit of spunk to them."

Alaina--who, of course, like McCreery is currently busy with the American Idols Live! tour--says she is dedicating her debut album to the fans who voted for her on AI. "It's because of [them] that I am here," she notes. "I hope they love it!"

Both records will be released on the same label, Mercury Nashville; and both artists are offering a pre-order with some special goodies included. You can check them out at McCreery's and Alaina's official sites.

Exciting news from country music's newest (and likely youngest) bright lights! Which album are you more excited to hear--Scotty's or Lauren's? Be sure to let me know!
