Jones, 81, was admitted to a Nashville-area facility after a routine checkup revealed he was running a slight fever with irregular blood pressure, according to a post on his official website.

In the interim, she's moved homes, solidified plans for three--yes, three--albums to be released in 2013, and found her footing as a record label owner (Wilson founded her own Redneck Records in 2009 after parting ways with original label Sony).

Wilson, who has a well-documented history of ups and downs with her former label--where she released her star-making debut in 2004--says that she's comfortable being in control now.

"I've never been happier than I am right now, being the boss," she says. "I always felt a little bit everything was too big before. I always felt like it felt wrong that I didn't know everyone that was working with me by name. A lot of times I just felt like that got in the way and sometimes was a hindrance as far as just letting the music and the creative take its role."

Garth Brooks (Photo: Ethan Miller)Garth Brooks has a new lawsuit slapped on his radar: It's from a former friend, and it goes to "low places" indeed. In addition to levying serious charges against the singer, it also attacks his character--calling him "paranoid, angry, deceitful, and vindictive."

The suit was filed Monday by Brooks's former production partner Lisa Sanderson, who attests that over 20 years Brooks repeatedly messed up deal after deal she tried to strike for him in the film and television realms--as well as failed to pay her the full percentage of producer fees they'd agreed on when she signed up to work for his company Red Strokes Entertainment.

"Amazing 2 have been part of SNF--an honor. I've just let everyone there know it's time 2 let someone else rock the open," the country superstar tweeted. "Difficult decision. Kinda emotional. Love all u guys at SNF--I'll b watching!!!"

Like it or hate it, everyone is talking about Brad Paisley's duet with LL Cool J, "Accidental Racist"--and, there's no better proof of the ballad's current pop-culture weight than the fact that it was parodied on Saturday Night Live over the weekend.

The skit took wicked aim at Paisley's statement-making song, which many are calling an over-simplified, disingenuous take on racial relations. Jason Sudeikis played Paisley, while Kenan Thompson took on the role of LL--both with appropriate headgear, of course.

Every artist in Nashville comes to town with a story to tell--but Jaida Dreyer has a particularly interesting one of her own. The blond newcomer, who originally came to town to be a songwriter but has since evolved into a seasoned performer, found her way into her career via a thorny road worthy of a ballad in itself.

The Canadian-born Dreyer, whose parents split up when she was 12, found herself leading a nomadic life with her mom--living in seven states by the time she turned 18. Throughout this, she pursued her first love: Showing horses competitively, an interest she'd cultivated since she was a very small child.
