"Amazing 2 have been part of SNF--an honor. I've just let everyone there know it's time 2 let someone else rock the open," the country superstar tweeted. "Difficult decision. Kinda emotional. Love all u guys at SNF--I'll b watching!!!"

Like it or hate it, everyone is talking about Brad Paisley's duet with LL Cool J, "Accidental Racist"--and, there's no better proof of the ballad's current pop-culture weight than the fact that it was parodied on Saturday Night Live over the weekend.

The skit took wicked aim at Paisley's statement-making song, which many are calling an over-simplified, disingenuous take on racial relations. Jason Sudeikis played Paisley, while Kenan Thompson took on the role of LL--both with appropriate headgear, of course.

Every artist in Nashville comes to town with a story to tell--but Jaida Dreyer has a particularly interesting one of her own. The blond newcomer, who originally came to town to be a songwriter but has since evolved into a seasoned performer, found her way into her career via a thorny road worthy of a ballad in itself.

The Canadian-born Dreyer, whose parents split up when she was 12, found herself leading a nomadic life with her mom--living in seven states by the time she turned 18. Throughout this, she pursued her first love: Showing horses competitively, an interest she'd cultivated since she was a very small child.

She was a vision in her gold and silver mesh dress on the red carpet, and she floored the audience with her performance of “Highway Don’t Care” with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban. But Swift’s greatest ACMs moment came before the event started: Instead of showing up with some big-shot celebrity, Swift invited a 19-year-old fan named Kevin McGuire, who had been battling leukemia, to escort her to the show.

Thankfully, Paisley paid a visit to "Ellen," where he was able to clear the air.

But first, let's rewind for a sec. In the nearly six-minute track, the two create a dialogue about race relations in America. Paisley, 40, describes being a white man in the South as "walking on eggshells" and details an experience at a coffee shop while wearing a Confederate flag on his shirt. "[I'm] just a proud rebel son with an 'ol can of worms/Lookin' like I got a lot to learn," he sings.

LL Cool J, 45, responds, "If you don't judge my do-rag … I won't judge your red flag … If you don’t judge my gold chains … I’ll forget the iron chains."

"It was kind of like a rowdy club show," he smiles. "It's a little different from my shows, where people are there just to see me. This is almost like word-of-mouth: 'Hey, there's a party going on at Fremont!"

But here's something that's brand new: Shelton apparently is holding an even more important role at the ceremony--he'll actually be marrying Clarkson and Blackstock!

Yup, Shelton will be conducting the wedding, and this isn't the first time he's performed such a role. "He's done it before," Clarkson told Entertainment Tonight, adding that Shelton will also be presiding over Pistol Annies member Ashley Monroe's upcoming wedding. (Monroe's bandmate is Shelton's wife, Miranda Lambert.)

Luke Bryan pulled an upset by winning Entertainer of the Year. And, almost as shockingly, Eric Church performed without wearing a ballcap or aviator shades.

Other than that, the ACMs stayed pretty much true to form: lots of pop/country star collaborations among the performance slots, and, when it finally came time to give out a few awards, a tendency to spread the love around rather than overly reward any single performer.

Besides winning the top award, Bryan didn’t win a single other award on-camera, being pushed aside for Jason Aldean in the Male Vocalist category and Church for Album of the Year. (Bryan did win one additional award off-camera, for joining Aldean on a song that won for vocal event of the year.) That puts him squarely in the tradition of past Entertainer of the Year winners like Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney, who tended to get the top honor without usually scoring in any of the
