  • It's pretty safe to say that Sunday's Ottawa Bluesfest in Ottawa, Canada, ended up not so well. A severe thunderstorm caused the main stage to collapse in the early evening during headliners Cheap Trick's set, injuring several people and putting an abrupt end to the show.

However, at least one bright spot came out of the day, according to sisters Emily Robison and Martie Maguire of the Court Yard Hounds. The duo, who played the festival earlier in the afternoon, were joined on stage for the CYH tune "See You In The Spring" by none other than Cheap Trick's Robin Zander. Just to prove it for those who weren't lucky enough to be there, the girls posted a pic on Twitter, posing with the legendary frontman.

According to the pair's official website, the band witnessed the freak stage disaster firsthand while watching Cheap Trick's set. "Members of Court Yard Hounds were standing on the side of the stage when it came crashing down," they reported.

Luckily, everyone from the CYH camp was

This record--the follow-up to 2010's multiplatinum smash Need You Now--promises to be as big a deal for Lady A as for their fans. Out of the 12 songs on the album, the band wrote 10 themselves (including current single "Just A Kiss"). You can see the full tracklisting here.

  • Okay, okay, nobody throw tomatoes at me or anything, but I admit it--I follow Justin Bieber on Twitter. (I like his music, I'm not ashamed to admit it!) Anyway, I was surprised to see this tweet from him over the weekend:

"@taylorswift 13 heard you sang BABY at your concert in TO. thank u for the love....might have to come by and stop in on a show."

Could it be true that Taylor Swift did pay homage to Canada's currently most famous product at her show in Toronto Friday evening? Well, she did even better than that. She did a medley honoring several Canadian musicians--starting out with "You Learn" by Alanis Morissette, then Bieber's "Baby," and a bit of Tal Bachman's "She's So High" before drifting seamlessly into her own smash, "You Belong With Me."

"I just have to represent for my boy, who's from here," Swift said, before launching into Bieber's hit. The audience clearly loved it, screaming at fever pitch and singing along with every word. You can watch the whole cute medley here,

  • Finally--here's some news about LeAnn Rimes that true fans of her career (and not her oft-reported/discussed personal life) will appreciate. It sounds as if the singer will be releasing her long-awaited album, Lady And Gentlemen, soon.

Rimes, who's very active on Twitter, used the social network as a convenient platform to announce the news. On Wednesday, she tweeted the following teaser: "Well, I have a release date for Lady and Gentlemen, but I'm I won't say exactly when yet cause I'm always afraid it will change."

Fans didn't have to wait too long, however, for more news. "I have been told Lady and Gentlemen will be released Sept 27," she tweeted Saturday. "Very excited to share the album w/ my fans!"

Rimes's album, a collection of cover songs originating from classic country artists, has been languishing in limbo for quite a while now. First single, John Anderson's "Swingin'," came out in June of 2010. "Crazy Women" followed in November. To give you some perspective: Both of these

  • Do you reeeeeally love Taylor Swift? Well, here's some good news--you can now smell like her! Swift has just launched her first perfume, called Wonderstruck.

The fragrance, put out by Elizabeth Arden and set to hit stores in October, is lushly packaged in a purple bottle with an "iridescent rainbow finish," according to her official site. Swift hand-picked three gold charms to adorn the bottle--a Moravian star, dove and birdcage.

Okay, that's pretty, but how does the stuff actually smell? Apparently, it's "a charming and sparkling surprise of vibrant fruits, kissed by a bouquet of soft petals and a touch of sweet indulgence." Sounds good. Also, sounds very Swiftlike!

Ever the romantic, the superstar noted of her new perfume: "I wrote the lyric, 'I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home,' for the song 'Enchanted' about the first time you meet someone. A fragrance can help shape someone's first impression and memory of you. It's exciting to think that Wonderstruck will play a role

  • Fans of the band Gloriana were no doubt startled last week to see a tweet on the band's Twitter page from mandolin player and singer Cheyenne Kimball. It stated she was no longer going to be a part of Gloriana, and would be updating fans from her own Twitter account from now on.

The tweet was promptly removed, but sadly, it was not a prank. Kimball did make an apparently abrupt--and final--decision to leave the band, which is readying its sophomore album.

The remaining three members of the band--Tom and Mike Gossin, and Rachel Reinert--were understandably bowled over by Kimball's unexplained departure. Tom Gossin, in an interview with the Associated Press, said Kimball left after a show last Friday and didn't respond to emails. The next thing the band knew, Kimball's tweet appeared on their account.

The band put the following statement on their official site: "As you may have heard, Cheyenne Kimball chose to leave our band. We need you to know that Gloriana will absolutely continue

  • Chris Young doesn't have to wait till "Tomorrow" to be the hottest twentysomething male singer in country. He's already arguably claimed that spot. Shortly before the release of his new album, Neon, Young came by the Yahoo! studios to tape a special Ram Country performance of three songs: "Tomorrow," the top 5 leadoff single from the new record; "Voices," his most enduring hit to date, and "Fishin' in the Dark," a Nitty Gritty Dirt Band oldie that he makes sound... young.

Here's some good news, if you haven't already noticed: Some time during the last year, he dumped his ever-present cowboy hat. If he became as big as he already was while hiding in the relative anonymity of the shadow of that brim, imagine how popular he'll become now that the public is actually able to see his fresh-faced charisma.

After his performance, we sat Young down to talk about all three of the songs he did in the Yahoo! studio, as well as get some fresh details on the just-released Neon album.

  • Jewel and Ty Murray are now officially parents--the singer/songwriter and her rodeo-star husband welcomed their little buckaroo, a boy named Kase Townes, into the world on Monday evening.

Kase was born at 7 p.m. in Texas, and weighed in at 7 pounds 6 ounces. "We are overcome with happiness," Jewel stated in a post on her official website. "It really is as great as everyone told us it would be--better even!"

Jewel and Murray, who dated for a decade before marrying in 2008, encountered difficulty conceiving their child. It took a couple years of trying--and slowing life down a bit, according to the singer--before the couple were successful.

Jewel, who kept busy during most of her pregnancy hosting the Bravo series Platinum Hit (as well as penning an album of children's music, which is slated to be released in August), recently told Fit Pregnancy that she isn't sure if she'll return to work after giving birth. "I just want to give myself time to adjust," she noted; adding that any

  • Fans at Tim McGraw's live shows this weekend were no doubt a little taken aback to see their favorite singer moving, well, a little slower than usual. Not only that, but needing a cane to get around!

No, McGraw hasn't suddenly felt any sort of accelerated aging effects (he's only 44, after all). Turns out he broke his foot. But, pshaw, a little thing like that didn't stop him none--the superstar peformed in a cast and corrective boot Friday night in Raleigh, did it again in Virginia Beach Saturday, and apparently has no intentions of taking any time off his current Emotional Traffic tour.

Photos of the injury can be seen on McGraw's Facebook fan page, which also noted the following: "Tim wants to thank his fans for their support at his show in Raleigh last night. For the first time in his career, he performed in a cast...and experienced a momentary pacing setback."

Another post noted, "FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, car wrecks, bar fights, bullridin'...and this is the first broken bone I've

  • Ready for some fresh music from country's currently hottest gal? The wait is over--Miranda Lambert announced on Friday that she will be putting out a new album this fall.

Lambert, who spread the news via an appearance on Good Morning America ("I've been waiting so long to announce this!" she gushed) will release Four The Record on November 1. Her last album, Revolution, was released in 2009.

In more exciting news for fans, she also noted that she may include her husband, Blake Shelton, as a collaborator on the new record. Although Lambert has paired up with Shelton before (on "Draggin' The River" off his 2010 All About Tonight album), the couple has not recorded together yet for any of Lambert's projects.

Lambert, who performed as part of Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series in New York City's Central Park, also discussed her recent wedding to Shelton. So what is newlywed life like for two extremely busy country superstars? "Hectic, but it's working out," she acknowledged.
